I don't think thats what he meant Karl I think the indoor pitch is part of the new build at the College. he said,
"We are pouring money into Bishop Burton to give the young players every chance......We've got 17 full time Hull FC academy players studying at Bishop Burton and training there. We have just opened a new gym and then spent £100,000 to make it a bespoke gym that suits the needs of the Academy players. With it's indoor pitch and now stands being erected around the main outdoor pitch it (Bishop Burton) is now becoming a first class facility"
He added
"Now you go to Bishop Burton with its besoke Gyms, meeting rooms, indoor pitch and they are in a learning environment where they learn more than just rugby".

| Bishop Burton doesn't have an indoor pitch, They have a large sports hall outdoor 4G pitch and a large indoor equestrian centre. Having used the gym on numerous occasions if it's not been built in the last few months then they still don't have one.

| What the point in warm weather training. The season kick off in Feb when it's cold
Get them use to training when it's freezing cold.Let them do the Army assault Course that will get them
Working has a team. That will do them the World of good.If they are fit is shouldn't be a problem

| I can't understand why the England team have gone for "high altitude" training in South Africa.
Don't know of any pitches on top of mountains in England.

High altitude training is a good way of getting the body to use oxygen more efficiently and improves fitness levels, it is employed by athletes from all different sports, Mo Farah regularly uses thius method so i understand them doing this!

It takes more than a week to realise any genuine benefit, we're talking players who have just completed a full season, if they're not fit now then they never will be.

It's what Huddersfield did last year, as did Wigan under McGuire. And for that matter South Sydney under Mcguire too, their captain was saying how it wasn't great fun but mentally toughened them up.

Its about time, I have never understood the value of taking the team away to a warm climate for pre season training when the season starts in the middle of winter. It its as important to train & prepare ready for the conditions you will face in the game just as much as tactics, calls, game plans etc.'" ]
Benefit would come if there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and sub zero temps, which for many teams would restrict the amount and levels of training that could be done. Even though the season kicks off in Feb several stadiums have undersoil heating or pitch protection so games are rarely called off early season due to the weather (apart from in the south of France!)
Sounds like BB provides indoor facilities that are far better than what we have had access to before so fully expect that there will not be a warm weather camp in January, just Radders Boot Camp. "
