I come in peace
I agree with you on Barnett and Swain, Barnett was so classy in attack and hit like a train in defence, had we signed he 2 years earlier he would have been a Hull FC legend.
Swain was the hardest working player I have seen in a Hull shirt, he make the hard things look so simple, he acting half play was the best I have ever seen.
I really liked Hasler and I think he was a bit unlucky at Hull for two reasons, winter rugby, he would have been a miles better player in summer rugby and the team that was around him at the time.
personally ability wise I haven't seen a better player than Jason Smith, he would b in my top 3 instead of Hasler.

Problem with Smith wasn't what he did on the pitch, but that's old ground.
Kearney worked hard, Grimaldi was a grafter, Entat and Mackay where both very good, West was a flyer.
The three that never realised their potential, King, Rob Roberts and Dykes, the latter for very different reasons to the first two.

| Interesting....the first 3 names I thought of we're
80's - Paul Eastwood (my fav player as a kid),
90's - Tevita Vailkona
00's - Richard Swain
but already reading other peoples choices I am stuck. I'd never seen anything like Barnett SNR flying out of the defensive line and knocking his opposite number into next week (if only Yeamo still did this, I'm sure he used to)
I guess I will stick with my wingers coz I like tries and length of the field tries.
Jason Smith just looked a class apart but Swain gets the nod because he was a consummate professional

Topliss, Kemble, Skerrett, much better players than we've had in recent times.

Skerrett was a modern style prop imo. One of my favourites.

| Jason smith is by far the best player I have seen play for hull. To young for the 80s so I will go
Smith swain vikona.
I think fizgibon could of been in there had he been at hull at a better time that man was a machine!!!
I know vikona was only 1st division for us but he smashed it and proved with Bradford he could do it at the top.

Simon Booth ended up teaching at Sydney smith while I was still there. He got some right stick about his hull days of me and my mates. He was a top bloke tho (away from FC )

80s Steve Knocker Norton
90s Greg Mackey
00s Richard Swain
I am going to put Greg Mackey in there. It seems a lot of fans have forgotten all about him. He won the Harry Sunderland Trophy when he got MOM against Widnes in the 1991 Premiership Final. I thought he was a cracking little player for Hull.

| Hope it's okay to chip in as a red & white and say I agree with those picking Vaikona for the 90's - utterly devastating on the ball and that year you guys won promotion he was the best player in the league by a mile. One of the few players I can think of where every time he got the ball you anticipated a try, no matter where he was standing on the pitch.
Absolute class act, great respect.
