| Only thing you could say positive about it is, Peter Gentle signed him. He's not done a bad signing yet. (Galea Hmm)

You and me both. Not even as a project. This has to be a joke.

| Maybe just maybe we wait and see what happens rather than binning someone off before they've had a chance to prove their worth.
Same old faces slagging players off whom either don't know jack or clearly have not an ounce of respect for players plying their trade in TGG.
I say give the guy a break, see what comes of it, it might be his one chance at making a go of it professionally and if he can fully appreciate that, knuckle down and show some heart and a bit of something that Gentle deems enough for him to go forward with the club then you never know.
If he's pants, not interested/no heart, then so what, for some RL just isn't the be all and end all of their lives.
We'll probably have him on a few beans with specific contract terms, we're not exactly losing anything by trying him out..

| Lets be honest it's not exactly a big risk, he wont be on much money and will only be a fringe player, bit of a project for Gentle and the coaching team.
I'd hope that if we do sign him, we still sign an experienced impact prop though.

Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.

Well Said. It`s not even offical that he has signed. Some folk just love a good moan.
IF we have signed him, then give the kid and the club a chance to work with him first.

Well said. It's probably the same people who had binned Horne off a few months back. Experts.

| Quote: 18st frame could be. Looks to lack a bit of ticker when the going gets tough. But who knows Eorl Crabtree has openly admitted he wasn't 'tough' in his early career & Tony Smith's desire to toughen him up nearly drove him away from the game.
All I can go on is my opinion & that is Waller is not good enough for SL, that doesn't mean if he signs he won't play SL but I see nothing in him that I don't see every saturday afternoon locally apart from a large frame.
p.s. If you'd like a more positive non 'binning' the player off opinion. The yes he's the next James Graham/Sam Burgess & is the best prop in the championship with interest from the NRL and all top 4 SL clubs............Then when he turns out not to be you'll be one of the disapointed ones!!! No need to build players up anymore then there is to 'bin' them off. Tommy Lee for example was gonna be a world beater even though he never was & then when this was proven he got grief when in reality we've had far worse over the last decade & the fact he's still in SL shows he wasn't as cr@p as some made out. I have a lot of respect for anyone plying their trade however as this is a Hull FC forum where fans can have opinions on the club, rumours, players and a whole host of other things then you shouldn't really get upset by their opinions. People pay good money to watch the club so can say what they like. As for Waller I stand by my comment that if HKR where rumoured to be signing him or had signed him a lot of Hull FC fans would be taking the p1ss. Lets face it the recent signings of Nicklas & re-signing of Netherton have been mocked many a time however they both have SL experience.
I may be proved wrong when it comes to Waller, some people who come on here will have never seen the kid play so like to hear peoples opinions. Personally I've seen him play for Skirlaugh on several occasions & he looked no better than other props in the national conference certainly not a barnstorming aggressive prop his 6'5" 18st frame could be. Looks to lack a bit of ticker when the going gets tough. But who knows Eorl Crabtree has openly admitted he wasn't 'tough' in his early career & Tony Smith's desire to toughen him up nearly drove him away from the game.

This is pretty much my opinion on the guy.
Gentle has obviously seen something in him he feels he can develop. Understand people who have seen him raising question marks over his fitness and Heart. However if he has signed as I am lead to believe I have confidence between Gentle, Radford and Last these flaws can be improved. He appears to have the build to make a good forward maybe he just needs a bit of help and direction to realise his potential.
If he turns out to be a dud, he won't be on a huge salary anyway and he is not a marque signing so what is there to lose?
I can't see his signing holding back other players or getting in the way of potential signings, I view it pretty much as a bonus signing and a project Gentle fancies having a go at.
