| Glad this has been sorted, the club needed to move on from this. Can someone clarify the salary cap implications? thought the cap was now "live" so as he's no longer employed by the club does his salary count?

| Quote: MOT "So doesn't O'Meley count as a "big" signing for you guys?'"
He's on about the signings made for the start of the 2012 season. Wade McKinnon, Brett Seymour and Aaron Heremeia. O'Meley was here long before that.

I'd heard this was dealt with by our insurance company on the grounds of him not being fit to play.
If this was the case would any payoff count ??

| Shame it's ended like this but best for all concerned I think. From Seymour's point of view he can concentrate on getting himself well again and from the clubs point of view this allows us to move forward (although like many of you I'm unclear what implication this has salary cap wise).
I for one wish Brett all the best in the future.

| This was the only outcome imo.. Brett was never going to play for us again and now he can concentrate on getting himself fit and his family.

could be why smailes tweeted about the possibility of signing a 7 this season

All eyes now on how #hullfc spend that large chunk of money next season, or even this season. Scrum-half badly needed

| There is a young lad at Catleford called Jamie Ellis.
Might be worth a look.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

I wonder if Dobbo fancies a 15% pay rise

Be better than the 50% pay cut Hudgell offered him

| Good move by all involved. Hopefully brett can recover fully now without the pressure that I'm sure will have been weighing on his mind of getting fit to play for hull again.
Hopefully the payoff will have been cleared with the rfl and whoever else involved and that money becomes available to try and get a player in for this season, personally I think we should put in sneaky bids for dobson and brough and see if we can take one of the two. Because let's be honest dobson is the player we went after and didn't get that's hurt us the most and broughs the one player that's left us and gone on to bigger things (although I doubt he would have done those things while at hull)
Hopefully we will have better luck with whoever we bring in next to be our number 7.

| Quote: "A4 Termination of a Playing Contract during the Salary Cap Year
Prior RSCM approval pursuant to Clause 6 shall be required where a Club proposes to terminate the Playing Contract of a Player, whether pursuant to a transfer of that Player’s registration or otherwise. The RSCM shall formally approve such termination for purposes of Clause 6 and shall recalculate the Club’s Aggregate First Tier Liability and/or Aggregate Second Tier Liability in accordance with Clause 6.
Comment to Clause A4
Think that's the relevant bits!

| Good luck to Brett and his family.
I have seen and experienced this type of illness and the effects it can have.
Its clear there are some historic problems affecting him if you look at his history he has been sacked by 2 other clubs in Aus one for alchohol related problems.
He seems to have had problems throughout his career and its true that life is more important than rugby league.
Maybe Hull should have seen the danger signs from his past.
BTW Keep your dirty little hands off Dobbo!!!

| Brough is a definite no chance.
Dobson - No chance, Hudgell would never sell to us.
