Quite agree. Times are hard in general nationally but tending to bite harder locally. Many people now no longer have the extra cash for secondary spending that they had a few years ago.
The cut off date for the discount period was just far too early even if the length of time available was the same as previous years, should have ended on January the 1st.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| How long can you keep a discount period going?
Plenty of notice, direct debit monthly payments, great extra prizes. I don't think the club have done alot wrong here.

| Agree totally that the early discount period was a big mistake.
We were hoping people would buy a pass before the previous season had barely finished and months in advance of when they can start to use it.

| It's also fair to say that we don't know what saving we're making when buying a pass at the moment. The value for me was to get my reserved seat and the convenience that goes with it but anyone who goes "unreserved" with perhaps the possibility of missing a couple of games during the year because of holidays etc isn't going to save that much. It could be that one or two are also thinking that missing ,say, Salford , London and maybe Widnes is no great loss so then paying for the rest on the day would probably make the annual cost around the same as buying a pass without paying it out up front. If we go well on the field we'll get some decent walk ups especially for the non televised "top" club fixtures but will suffer on the rest. Maybe a case for having A and B grade prices though that will no doubt upset some passholders? Difficult.

IMO a lot of people i speak to have become disilusioned with RL in general, just dont think the interest is there anymore.
We have had the recent farce with Bradford, Salford look as though there heading the same way, the disaster of the Crusaders. Promotion and relegation needs to come back to get the sport some credibility back for a start.
I work at a company of around 50 people who have 2 free tickets in the premier club which any of us can use. no body uses them for the rugby, know one is that interested any more, sad but true.'"
I don't think yours is the only company either. Sad times.

You make some very good points for me as an outsider. Do any clubs do the grading structure in SL? I know pretty much every football team does it and it does seem a good way to get people in and a fair way. Maybe SL clubs should look at doing it.

It is a long way from Illinois to Hull though

the 8K prize is a good one: VIP tickets to the Magic Weekend, Challenge Cup Final and Grand Final

| Totals crept up at a snails pace to 7776, so only 59 sold in the biggest Xmas shopping week.
Really disappointed with the recent pass sales, and I think we are going to be down on our average attendance next year now. There isn't really much else the club can do, I just hope they have got a few clever marketing tricks up their sleeves to get the pay on the day fans in, or we are going to have a lot of empty seats to spread out in next season

| On the plus side, I got my confirmation email for my iFan pass today. I was beginning to wonder if I'd dreamt paying for it.

Clever marketing isn't going to compensate for having a clueless to$$er in charge of the economy. Ordinary folk are getting poorer - it's what Tories do. When you're struggling to buy food and heat your home a ticket to the rugby isn't really an option.

Definately. People focus on marketing and exciting/winning rugby because their club have some control over them, but it's swimming against the tide at the moment.

I do agree that the state of the economy makes getting a crowd in a massive challenge at the moment, but even as a passholder who has paid for next year, I wouldn't begrudge free/discounted tickets being given out to kids and amateur RL teams to fill the KC up a bit.
I also think that offering a discount for buying ticket say a week before the game is worth a try, several crowds last year were affected by our injury crisis, with fans waiting to hear the latest injury news/squad announcement before deciding whether to go. Same with the snow/frost/sleat that affected our first few home games last year.
