Dave Hodgson is quicker than some are making out, he showed great pace last week from the halfway line, and showed it again yesterday, tbh I didn't think he'd out pace Sharp though.

I've been thinking this, there seem to be a lot intimating that Hodgson is slow just because he is now 30. IMO he used to be one of the quickest around, and whilst I don't think he's up to his Salford days pace off the mark any more he still has plenty once he gets space to run into, which we gave him. I do agree that Briscoe would probably have stood a better chance than Sharp, though, but then I see that more as praise of Briscoe than criticism of Sharp.

As a Wigan fan watching Russell he was totally out of position for the Hodgson try and wasnt even really at full back. If he had been in position then Hodgson would never have scored. It is worrying that he still makes the same basic mistakes defensively and positionally and taht is precisely why the Wigan coaches wont put him at full back for us yet.

As a neutral I thought Sharp lived up to his name in attack. Always looked dangerous going forward.

Sharp isn't slow. He has pace, was beaten by footwork. Should have gone for ankle tap.

I think Sharp's problem was that he was in two minds about tracking back when Seymour made his tackle attempt, this meant Hodgson had a slight head-start.

Overall Sharp has improved a lot this season, but I still think the club need to look to see if there are better options out there for next season.

From what I keep hearing now, he may not be at the club next season.

As I say, he has improved a lot and I respect him for improving his game so quickly...but he still woulden't be on the wing for a top4 team.

I think the club needs to look at every player in the squad and really question their role, for years we have blamed Agar for the poor performances, and for a large part he was responsible. But there are still some players who are either not good enough, or are past their best at the club that need moving on.

Hodgson had absolutle NO right to score from the position, ended up scoring really easily.

Thought Manu outstanding,is his exit confirmed yet ?

Thought Russell was one of our bigger threats too which is a worry.

PG will have learnt a ton from this about his players, refereeing etc - won't hurt us in the long run.

Aye , It's going to be one hell of an effort to replace everyone thats leaving with better players. Is he home sick now or have the club told him to look elsewhere ?.

thought sharp had a good game apart from that last tackle,must admit thought he had more pace,sometimes sharp looks express like that try againt the wires,then looks slow like last night,

I heard it on here first a poster mentioned it about him going to Saints (I think) and I said surely that's a mistake and they meam Turner. They commented again and said time will tell or along those lines. Then I heard it again the other day.

I like Sharp and he puts hell of alot of effort in to help the team out and has improved greatly. Before we actually signed him I said we should take a look at him while he was at Harelquins. But as you say, if rumours are true then. Ogre, Manu, Moa, Sharp, Martin, Turner, Ellis and then Briscoe and Tickle the season after next. Is far too much quality to be losing in one season to be able to replace with equal quality or better. I just can't see it. Ellis for Manu, Arundel for Turner/Martin and that's it for now. Don't forget Pitts was meant to be for next season so that's another player off the list for next season.

I actually think we'll be weaker than next season unless big things start to happen.
