Still don't think our attendances will improve just yet. Sadly, it will need more then a decent start to a season to convert the sceptics back to the KC.

Yesterday's crowd was what I expected, and I don't think playing on a Sunday made any difference to the crowd. Widnes simply isn't an attractive game to be spending £19-24 on in these economic times.

It will take a few years of good rugby to lure the lost fans back, many have been turned off by the years of Hetherington/Rule/Agar spin and empty promises.

I think a better indicator of our crowds will be the Bradford game, it will be only our 2nd game against 'marketable' opposition (with the Wire crowd hampered by the weather) if we beat Cas i'd hope to pull in 13-14K for Bradford.

Simple answer is go back to Friday nights. It's what all the clubs with decent attendances do icon_wink.gif

"Old Faithful in [b:3i3rgepd]ANY[/b:3i3rgepd] kind of weather":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_64952.jpg

The biggest disappointment for me has been the atmosphere within the stadium icon_sad.gif When old faithful gets go (a rare occasion) no-one joins in, and it dies out by "... when the round up days are over"!
I miss hearing our loyal fans screaming at the top of their lungs our famous anthem! I know that we've had a few bum seasons, but aren't we as hull fans supposed to follow the motto "old faithful in any kind of weather"? For decades we have been known as highly passionate and loyal fans, it's really upsetting to see how dull we've all become! I don't know how we can improve this, but for the sake of the players, the club and the match day experience, it needs to improve!!! icon_sad.gif

The club need to do something about the user agreement so they can have more flexibility for ticket offers to get people back into the habit of attending matches

I think the crowd numbers will increase if our performances carry on with the recent forum.

I don't like us playing on Sundays. It's the first time since I was 14 that I haven't gotten a season pass (admittedly I'm only 19 now) and this is because Sunday clashes with too many other things to make purchasing the pass worthwhile. Instead I just buy on the day for the matches I can get to as it works out cheaper overall.
Sunday will also be affected by the weather, as when it's nice families may decide to go away for the weekend.

Also, it's kinda crap for the East Stand as you've got the sun in your eyes nearly the entire game, and the matches themselves don't seem to have the atmosphere that friday nights did.

I'd rather see us switch back to Friday night matches next season.

Attendances and atmosphere will be governed by performances. Friday night attendances last year were poor so I'm not sure Sunday rugby has too much of an effect.

It was a disappointing figure yesterday but as has been said it'll take a while to win some supporters back. After the Bradford game we have potentially the four biggest gates of the season - Rovers, Wigan, Leeds and Saints so it'll be interesting to see how the attendaces go.

Plus what people can afford .Fans just might be waiting to see the top teams coming to KC Stadium .Hull should put offers to traveling fans to help them .But so should every S/L team .The cost of a Coach fare plus gate money fans think twice about the lay out .

Our form in the next few weeks will have a massive effect on our average attendance. As you state our biggest crowd pullers all happen in quick succession. A win against Rovers and/or Leeds would get many of the 'missing' fans back to the KC.

In Adam we have trust In peter we have belief In our team we have pride:

Quote: Airliebird94 "The biggest disappointment for me has been the atmosphere within the stadium
I've been saying it on here for a while about lack of singing and atmoshere. To be fair I don't think its any worse than friday nights.
I think one of the problems we have is there's small groups who wanna sing but their spread between north/east corner south/east and a handful at back of south stand.
One idea might be what nal and west ham did and made areas singing sections and printed on tickets that their view maybe obstruted by people standing to sing. If you watch west ham the whole bottom tier of the bobby moore end are stood up and no-one moans.
sorry for going on but we could have great atmosphere at home games.
We need our away support at home which is the best in the game by a mile.

Well there are only three to compare as obviously Widnes weren't in Super League last season.

v Warrington 12710 (last season 16121)
v London 10096 (11139)
v Wakefield 11105 (11032)

The Warrington game last season had a big away following as they needed to win to secure the League Leaders Shield. It's also worth pointing out that the Harlequins game last season was also on a Sunday (although in June rather than February).
