A real non-playing legend lol.

| Great photo!
Good memories of the Boulevard. No advertising, just the white boards. They were banged before an opposition kick at goal and made quite a racket. Great to see the original shirst in the crowd. Irregular hoops all the way!!
Keith Tindall, great player, big heart!

I've got a ball from the Keith Tindall benefit year too, not a match ball i don't think though. The ball i have was given to me by my future father in law, it was won by him at one of his benefit nights. I think he said it was Trades and Labour club if not, i'm not sure where but it was down Bev road. It was on the 11th March 1982 which was actually the day my partner was born, my father in law got a message to get his to hospital like.
The ball say's KEITH TINDALL BENEFIT HULL F.C 1981-1982 on it and it signed by the Hull F.C team and also has some of the Great Britain and France teams signatures on it too.

cracking photo - think we should have an old photos thread on here. love the fact that everyone seemed to bring a scarf, most were worn around the wrist. the black and white caps were pretty smart too, i remember having one of those. great memories from the time when testimonials were fun
as a slight aside there was a cricket match played on the boulevard around this time - a benefit for the late david bairstow i think. it was played in the evening and the likes of brian close, colin croft and i think a young martyn moxon played. i remember bairstow holding up the game whilst the went to the clubhouse bar, and close getting some quality stick from the threepenny. anybody else remember this?

It was at the end of August 1982 when there was a fund raising evening in aid of the ‘Stadium Development Fund’. Organised by new Secretary Dooley, it was a floodlit Cricket Challenge featuring a Freddy Trueman XI and a Brian Close XI and included some big name players like Clive Lloyd, Colin Croft and Desmond Haynes as well as young Moxon. 6000 turned up for what was an enjoyable, if somewhat bazaar night; I have a photo but dont know how to post it

8570.jpg Hull KR Chairman Neil Hudgell, August 26th, 2014 said..
"In fact, the days of us signing any players from across the river are over. Our fans are loyal, passionate and only interested in one club. Taking players from our nearest rivals doesn't fit in with that brief.":8570.jpg |

| I was at that cricket match as well, stood in the middle of the Threepenny stand. Halfway through the match, a ball was bowled to somebody who gave it a right good clout, it flew past Brian Close, standing at mid on, missing him by a few inches without him having time to move a muscle. the ball had barely thudded into the boards before some wag shouted "That was close"...
