| As I remember that game the teams were drawing when Wigan got the pen from long range, that's why they went for goal rather than kicking for touch and seeing out time.

| Completely agree with Coddy best ever ending to a game I've seen If I remember rightly it was March 88 and the second game in for Dean and Hepworth in charge after Casey went. It went something like this,
We were level with a minute to go and conceeded a penalty on half way after Terry Regan shoulder charged Goodway. The penalty from Lydon fell just short Pearce fields it, sides stepped the Wigan chasers and ran 40 yards passed onto Dick onto McCaffrey who scored as the hooter went. The pitch had to be cleared of dancing FC fans so that the conversion could be taken.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

| Imagine the amount of 40-20s we would get if he was playing now, without doubt, the best kicker i have seen at Hull since i 1st went in 1975.

He did indeed. There was a great "Ooooh" from the crowd when it happened and Paul Fletcher romped over to the right of the posts. I was working in Coventry and drove up and met my mate who was living in Bolton, I think, at the time.
I've got the Micron video, Shaun Edwards was interviewed afterwards and, talking about Hull, came up with a classic quote... "I knew they were good but I didn't know they were that good".

| I've got both the wigan games on DVD copied from Micron videos. The last minute try is my favourite memory of the boulevard.
