Dear RFL,

As it appears that you either don't have someone sending out kit directives to the clubs or the person that is doing it is clearly inept, I am kindly offering to help you in this obvious predicament you're having.
As a follower of Hull FC, it has been frustrating that for some reason the away team (or the person in charge of telling the away team) cannot understand that although their is black in our kit, it is majority white (white shorts, white socks with black hoops, greater amount of white in the shirt) and so we have seen incidents such ashttp://www.rlphotos.com/Hull/Hull20082/thumbnails/RadfordLee2-22-208dl.jpg" >
2008 clash with Bradford Bulls, who came in their home kit of mainly white shirt (with black trim), white shorts and white socks.

2008 clash with Huddersfield, who came in their away kit of mainly white (with claret and gold trim), white shorts and white socks.

Since these 2008 incidents, Hull are reverted to a predominantly black kit (black trim on shirt instead of white and black shorts in 2009, black shirt with white chevron and black shorts in 2012, and black shirt with thin white hoops and black shorts in 2011), but we have returned to having a mainly white kit this year. I was hoping that the colour clashes wouldn't happen again, but so far in our two home friendlies this season, we've already seen two clasheshttp://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/images/localpeople/ugc-images/275786/Article/images/15009937/3488043.png" >
Bradford Bulls playing in their home kit of mainly white shirt (with black trim), black shorts and white socks,
(Hull were playing in Lee Radford's testimonial kit of mainly white shirt with thick black hoops, white shorts and black socks).

So, therefore, I have painlessly and quite easily gone through the trouble of selecting for you which kits should be worn in Hull FC's games this season by both the home and away team so I will not have to pay money to guess which team in white is currently holding the ball...

Round 1: Sun 5 Feb Hull FC (primary) v Warrington Wolves (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 2: Sat 11 Feb Catalan Dragons (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 3: Hull FC (primary) v London Broncos (primary; alternative is a lighter colour)
Round 4: Salford City Reds (primary) v Hull FC (either; no clash)
Round 5: Hull FC (primary) v Wakefield Wildcats (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 6: St. Helens (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 7: Hull FC (primary) v Widnes Vikings (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 8: Castleford Tigers (primary) v Hull FC (primary; alternative shorts and socks would clash)
Round 9: Hull FC (primary) v Bradford Bulls (alternative; primary would AND DID clash drastically)
Round 10: Hull Kingston Rovers (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would AND DID clash drastically)
Round 11: Huddersfield Giants (primary) v Hull FC (primary; alternative is a darker colour)
Round 12: Hull FC (primary) v Wigan Warriors (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 13: Hull FC (primary) v Leeds Rhinos (primary; alternative is hoops which would increase similarity)
Round 14: London Broncos (primary) v Hull FC (primary; alternative would clash drastically)
Round 15: Hull FC (alternative) v Hull Kingston Rovers (primary)
*Hull have never worn their alternative kit against Hull KR at the Magic Weekend)
Round 16: Hull FC (primary) v St. Helens (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 17: Wakefield Wildcats (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 18: Warrington Wolves (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 19: Hull FC (primary) v Huddersfield Giants (primary; grey base colour of alternative increase chances of a clash)
Round 20: Leeds Rhinos (primary) v Hull FC (primary; alternative would clash drastically)
Round 21: Hull FC (primary) v Hull Kingston Rovers (alternative; primary would AND DID clash drastically)
Round 22: Hull FC (primary) v Salford City Reds (either, no clash)
Round 23: Wigan Warriors (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 24: Hull FC (primary) v Catalan Dragons (alternative; primary would clash drastically)
Round 25: Widnes Vikings (alternative) v Hull FC (alternative; both kits clash with primary kit)
*Or ensure that Widnes wear white shorts if Hull play in alternative to reduce chances of a clash)
Round 26: Bradford Bulls (primary) v Hull FC (alternative; primary would AND DID clash drastically)
Round 27: Hull FC (primary) v Castleford Tigers (either; no clash)

If you require any further assistance in this matter, do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,
A concerned fan.

Either some people are blind or cannot distinguish colour and/or shapes.
Saints for instance may well have a predominantly white shirt but there's a great feck off big RED V on it so their kit does not drastically clash at all.
Same with the KR & Wigan kit, again bright red which contrasts quite a lot to our black, the photo of the warry leeds one I'll give you however as a fan & as a some time player I've never had to worry about whom is on my team and certainly I don't ever remember passing to an oppo because I had issues with shirt colours (Ok, maybe back in the dim/distant past of watching all mud coloured teams)
I'd suggest people get off to specsavers early doors as this season is going to test your eyesight a lot it seems from the supposed kit clashes icon_confused.gif

HULL KINGSTON ROVERS is my religion, Craven Park is my church and Jordan Abdull is my God:

It's easy to distinguish who is who when Hull play Rovers. The Hull players are the ones under the sticks waiting for the goal kick to be taken

I'd suggest people get off to specsavers early doors as this season is going to test your eyesight a lot it seems from the supposed kit clashes So when both sets of players have their backs to you, how do you see the black hoops or the red chevron? You only see a white panel at the back, black number, white shorts and white socks.
Similarly when they're in the ruck. Or when you see them on a side. The main thing you see is white. People shouldn't have to look for something that appears on one part of the kit and can't be seen if they turn around. We might as well just look out for different sponsors.

I don't know how you can "give me" Warry/Leeds and yet say Hull/Saints isn't a clash. If anything, there's more of a clash in the latter as over 75% of the kits are identical in the same places. Why can't you look for the team with the blue shorts or the yellow shorts to distinguish them? Or the fact that the Wire shirt has a big white V on it in the same way as you say to look for the Saints big red V? It's exactly the same principle yet you've come up with two different outcomes.

Did you not think there was a clash in the friendlies?

I can clearly see the red of the kits mentioned from behind (Saints And Wigan have red in their socks, easy to see from distance) Roversd have a red band all the way around and it isn't as if all the players of any given team will have their backs to a particular direction for long. There's also the fact that they are often standing 10+ metres apart that is a big clue, that and the team going in a particular direction/those anticipating a pass/attacking defending field positions, it aint rocket science tbh.

I don't come up for friendlies and frankly a kit issue in those games for those few people who can't distinguish between colours/shapes AND their own players is niether here nor there anyway.
Sorry but you're making a mountain out of a mole hill IMHO.

Which team is Hull?

There's about as much red in the Bradford shirt and shorts as there is in the Saints socks. Can you really "easily" see the red in that picture? From far away, and when you're not relying on natural light, it's harder to distinguish colours as they get shadowed easier and so just look "darker" than the white parts. You're basically saying that you have to rely on a tiny part of someone's sock to be able to tell the difference. do you really think that's acceptable practice?

And Rovers don't have a big red band around the shirt. Only on the front. Only the supporters' version does.

You are right in the cases that you can easily distinguish teams when they're setting up a defensive line or whatever, but in broken play when there are players all over the place, it is very difficult to see who is who when the game is going so quickly. You shouldn't have to think twice, especially as a player, and especially if it can so easily be avoided by wearing a completely different coloured kit!

This isn't a kick about on a park pitch. This is the top of the professional game in this country FFS.

Reason why we didn't play in our BLACK AWAY kit is because we are using that kit against Catalan at home to 'unveil' it. That's why we refused to play in away kit yesterday.

So you should have worn last years then. Or some kind of training kit.

You shouldn't have worn a kit that blatantly clashes with a one-off testimonial shirt. How can you ask them to change a one-off shirt?!
