| Well Kathy, it was organised prior to you being informed and I can only apologise for jumping the gun but expediency was required on this one.... Sorry love.

| I'd be overjoyed if it happened. For me, the KC has never generated the same amount of atmosphere with 16k people in it as the Boulevard did with 2k. I miss the 3d stand every game I go to, and the last time I went to Salford, we stood in the shed with the Salford fans just for a bit of atmosphere (albeit on this occasion quite a threatening atmosphere!). I'm sure if we could stand in the KC, all the like minded fans would group together, and we'd finally start to enjoy the benefits of home advantage again! The only issue I'd have is that the view of a RL game is shyt at the ends, and it's unlikely we'd get any terracing on the sides.

| Can imagine it'll be a fair bit of work to make it safe to stand. Not sure of the requirements but its a hell of a lot more than just rippng the seats up. Would the pitch of the stand need to be reduced and the steps widened?

| For information:
FC Voices were contacted at last night by the Hull City supporters Club to ask if we would send a representative to a meeting at the KC on 11th February.
The meeting would include the SMC, police, City Supporters Club and other agencies to explore the implications of a possible directive with regard to stadia in this country.
That's all that has happened so far.
FC Voices have stated that as there is no affiliated Supporters Club we would listen to what was said at the meeting and pass it back to the fans.
We know nothing further as yet and will not be reflecting any views on either side of the argument just listening to what is said on the matter.

It would most likely require the whole of the area (seats, concrete and possibly steelwork), ripping out and starting again. So for some months the stand(s) would be closed. No prizes for guessing which team would be inconvenienced by any such work

Depending on the depth of each row as it is now it may be possible to but and "extra step" on each row. so it would be more like the gangways. (if that makes any sense at all!)
The only issue might come around the load bearing capacity of the steel supports, what the concrete sits on. these looked to be of fairly standard build when the KC was put up, and the Saints build was similar construction.
On the saints board they have an amazing thread about the build of thier ground, there was some debate on capacity, and someone linked the Laws of stadium building booklet, 90 odd pages, it talks about the depth of rows there and capacities. An interesting read, but I'm not trawling through 250 pages of RLFans to find the link

UPDATE
Having investigated this further the event on the 11th is a visit to the KC by the Safer Standards Roadshow which is travelling the Country showing the suggestions for converting parts of stadia into standing areas if legislation allows this in future years.
The Hull City supporters club have invited various bodies (civic dignitaries etc) including Fc Voices to view this. At present there is no legislation in place to change the rules introduced by the Taylor Report re Standing at certain football Stadiums so nothing is likely to happen in the near future.
FC Voices will monitor this situation and ensure that full consultation with the fans is implemented should the legislation be amended and this situation concerning the KC Stadium ever change in the future.

Nor me. When dealing with civil servants, the safest option is always "NO". A pressure group may get the ear of a senior politician but he then hands it down through a senior civil servant, who will undoubtedly take one look at it and bury it in the "Too Difficult" tray, never to see the light of day again.

| Would love it if the East Stand was all standing. It'd be rocking. Unlike now, where everyone is spread out and you can't move to where the atmosphere is being generated so it just dies a death if you're surrounded by quite people.
If people want to sit and enjoy a side view, they have that option in the West Stand.
Doesn't the South Stand at Leeds hold about 10k? (Or did it until they decided it was falling to pieces!). Just imagine the atmosphere you could get out of that many Hull fans stood together at a big game. I really hope they bring it back.

Yes, you was certainly risking your life on the terraces. I remember standing in the 3d stand as a 14 year old, gaping at the sea of death around me. Every single week a multitude of casualties, cutting our attendances for the following week. This is the real reason for the decline of attendances at the Boulevard, thank god we found the safety net of the KC, or all the Hull fans would be dead by now!
On a serious note, I have witnessed 3 injuries including 1 fatality at seated grounds, and I never actually witnessed one throughout all the years I stood at the Boulevard. I remember a guy having a seizure in 3d stand, and the fans getting him to the St Johns people at the bottom in less than 2 minutes. No chance of that happening to someone stuck in the middle of cramped seating.
