Sorry not trying to be argumentative but I think thats hard on Todd too, wasnt the most skilful player in the world but hey that lad gave 100% every time he pulled on his jersey dont you think???
His last game ever was an example of that !!

Skinny is looked on negatively because he was a wasted quota place. You cannot doubt he gave his all for the club

| Quote: Wilde 3 "Having seen this on the Wire and Wigan boards, thought i would see what kind of nightmare overseas 17 we could put together. Having only supported since 1990 or so my choices are limited!
1. Ben Sammut - awful under the high ball, had a nightmare at Knowsley Road one match I can remember2. Fili Seru - fat, lazy winger - typical of our recruitment under Peter Walsh
3. David Baildon - not a bad player, biscuit bones though
4. Damian McGarry - first player i didnt like when i started watching Hull as a kid, although its probably beacause i thought his name was weird at the time!
5. Ian Herron - Injured taking a conversion infront of Threepenny (he could only kick) Carney came in and didnt see him again
6. David Webber - great tackler, awful with the ball
7. Peter Wheeler - Couldnt think of another 7 - Could have been Head or Dykes but they showed quality amongst the injuries
8. Hitro Okesene - awful
9. Andrew Purcell - Peter Walsh signing, probably swayed my judgement on him
10. Hutch Maiava - awful
11. Paul McNicholas - The Huntsman!! massive with no bite
12. Sione Faumauina - looked the part for the Warriors, think the signing of him was wrong, and we dropped Brough to play him at Warrington away IIRC
13.
14. Jason Temu - Poor player
15. Glen Tomlinson - again, not a bad player, but got injured away at Saints (same game Baildon scored a cracker) and didnt see him again.
16. Scott Gale - Dont remember him having a good game. Though Henjak was much better
17.
Struggling now........'"
Amazing how time skews some peoples memory. Sammut only played one game at St Helens for Hull, which we lost 27-14.

I think it works the other way as well. Last night we watched the DVD of Leeds v Hull at Headingley in 2006. Because I have quite a few DVDs of the 2005 and 2006 season, particularly games in which Shayne McMenemy made a really telling contribution, he's becoming more of a legend each year in my eyes. Confused as to whether he was really a journeyman backrower with a decent boot on him, or whether seeing him score 2 in the semi at the Galpharm and force the error that led to us winning the cup umpteen times means he's an All Time FC Great.

Very very underrated player . Sharp shouldn't have got rid of him when he should

How has it skewed my memory? He had one game there, and it was awful. He had other poor displays, just that one still stands out

| Anyone remember a fat useless prop forward called dave brown who came across in the late 80's? Hardly played and was sent home early because he was garbage and lazy. We did sign some rubbish in the late 80's and early 90's

He didnt have a bad game - I remember this game and he scored a try that should of been given, he placed the ball down in front of the hull fans then Wellens came across and booted it away and we got a drop out IIRC!

Didn't he make his debut at the old Caravan Park?
What a bag-o-e.
