For me I'd go for Tickle as he is so consistent and is more in my mind with him still being at the club but take nothing away from the likes of Pearce, Lloyd, Eastwood, Crowther etc as they all could kick well.

Sammy Lloyd used to kick goals from inside his own half from a mound of turf ankle deep in mud. I'd like to see some of today's kickers try that

I loved it when he wiped his kicking boot up the back of his calf to clean the front of his kicking boot just before he ran at the kick. My boyhood hero was Sammy and a great kicker to boot (pardon the pun). Toss up for second place between Paul Eastwood and Gary Pearce.

Agreed. Todays modern kickers have lovely firm dry conditions, modern boots and a raised kicking tee.
Best kicker I ever saw in rugby league was Frano Botica at Wigan, this guy was just a machine and could kick from anywhere in any conditions.

As for best kicker...Pearce for me.if he was playing now,he would kick 40-20's for fun and its no coincidence that the last time we had a good kicking game was when he was kicking coach.
