| I suppose it depends who would be available to replace departing players...if we cant get better players in then we will be stuck with them whether we like it or not.
But to play the game i wouldnt care too much if these left.... sharp, lauaki, dowes, washbrook, fitz, phelps, long, lyne(loan)

| The four props are garbage for a start, lets be realistic, we aint big enuff to knock other teams around, we need a class 6 and 7 (not rocket science) and a world class 1, 2 and 3 to finish teams off. The back row aint bad but we need class in that position also. The fans need to be patient, we may be 2 or 3 years before were capable of challenging the top teams. At the mo were in the right postion of around 8th or 9th with the squad we have and the clown who is the coach. Full clear out of backroom staff needed and a new chief exec to get us more forwrd thinking. The club needs bums on seats and to do that we need optimism from the top for the fans and sponsors to come forward. Get rid of the dead wood that the club is riddled with and lets get the wheels in motion. The regime thats been operating the club for the past 10 years have had their day.
A shame we lost today but maybe and more positively, a blessing in disguise.
Come on you Hull, we can be a force with the right coach and team, time is up for the gang who have had our pants down and produced a clique within the organisation.

| If we replace the coach then perhaps we won't need to replace most of those players. I still maintain that the top teams don't have players that are vastly superior to ours they are just better coached and playing to their potential following a gameplan they believe in.

| Key problem is we are too predictable.
Not just on todays performance, but I find it hard to understand why Rich Horne has been given another 2 years unless he is to be used as a back up for full back. For a half back he doesn't threaten the line, has lost his pace and isn't creative.
Also, Leeds forwards looked physically bigger then ours and we ended up getting bullied by their second rowers.

I agree. Maguire won the Grand Final at Wigan after signing only Deacon.

| lauaki(who will go),long(criminal waste of good salary cap £s due to injuries/age),sharpe who's no better then the younger lynne (who has time to develop if we let him without crucifying him every time he makes an error) so why did we buy him anyway, gleeson who we must have got cheap anyway(though its a pity he cant sort his head out as he is quality on form).
if the truth be told though, its the coach we need to change, and we all know it.and a better coach might turn our squad into a formidable side

Good points raised and one I whole heartedly agree with.

| Of the players we can ditch:
Fitzgibbon: Great player, but retirement beckons
Lauaki: Don't think I've ever seen such an overhyped player in the FC shirt, everytime he gets the ball you expect fireworks...but he goes off like a wet sparkler. No better than the infamous Hutch Maivia.
Washbrook: Hasn't nailed a position down after all of these years, and has sadly been made more and more average by successive FC coaching regimes.
Other players I would ditch if we could end their contracts:
Sharp: His errors/failings could be excused if he were 18-21 and new to SL level, but at 25 to be still making these errors is criminal.
Radford: As with Fitzgibbon, once a top workhorse...now a worn-out donkey who slows the play down.
Horne: Re-signed on sentiment only. Never has been creative or been able to kick...but previously used his pace, work rate and good positioning to make up for it. Now the pace has gone he's just anonymous.

I agree a lot with this point, but there are still a few players that I do think we need to be looking at replacingcan[/i replace them, I think a couple of those will be/have been kept because we haven't been able to bring in/produce players of the necessary quality.

Agree with most of them except Turner. As a 6 he is truly awful, but playing at centre he is starting to develop into a useful player.

| Gotta keep Turner - been playing well at centre and is young.
Why we signed Horne is the question we've got to ask ourselves. Hes done nothing for years. If we let him go, which other top 6 team would take him on?

Are these the same errors that Briscoe and Whiting have been making while Sharp hasn't even been in the side? Because we've been shipping tries on either wing due to the stupid tactic of compresing the defensive line. We could have the Origin wingers in the side and would struggle.
