Not sure why you think he can't sustain a club? Footy is a differemt kettle of fish and nowadays clubs need a mulit millionaire to run the club, AP although has a few million (i guess) he cannot financially run a football club on his own.
He has proven himself by providing a platform for clubs to progress, i suspect he will do the same with Hull. As most business people involved in sport....the outgoing board had done all they could (or wanted to do), it's time for AP to take us forward and make us stronger until he himself as taken us as far as he can. That may be in 4 or 5 years time or 10 or 15 years who knows?

| Although I strongly believe that the time was correct for the board to leave, I don't believe they did a bad job. In the last 6 years, we've been more succesful than 3/4 of the teams in the league with a CC win, another CC final and a grand final. The board has also made it possible for some of the world's best players to wear the black and white; Berrigan, Fitzgibbon, O'Meley, Kearney, Swain, Sing, Blacklock... All top players at some point. They also saved us and took us from a club on the brink to one of the big 3 clubs off the field. Thanks for your part in Wembley, Cardiff and OT...

| Quote: Ian P "I would like to pass on my thanks for the years of hard work to the retiring board, I know at times myself and others have not had a totally friendly relationship with one or two of them. We have so much to be great full for since those dark days way back in we nearly went out of existence, Richo and Kath where part of the Gateshead Thunder set up that came down south to Hull to link up with the Weatherall's to form a new board. Bomber brought us hope and laid the foundations for our later success, Trish brought the club to life with sponsorship deals which have been overshadowed since but back then they where groundbreaking.
Things have not always been rosy and faults lie on both sides, but I do think we all had a grudging admiration towards each other if nothing else. The Gateshead link is now finally severed and we move on, with some regrets and many memories of a challenge cup win just a a few short years after near oblivion. We have not always bee faithful at times with a few instances of fans being idiots, the infamous McApline semi they could have walked away, but they kept faith. We have become, in my opinion a better club because of that incident we no longer stand by as so called fans drag all our names down. The board working with HISA and others made this club more the family club it is today,Quote: Ian P " like it or not visiting the KC is a far better experience for every one then the Boulevard was towards the end. '" '"
Not for me and my friends it isn't. You definitely can't speak for everyone on this one. The KC is a morgue and as soon as I walk out of the concourse into the seat, a numb feeling of boredom instantly settles upon me.

i agree with that, there is more atmosphere on the moon, as for the outgoing board, im glad they are going, they did'nt have any ambition to actually win trophies which does'nt fit in with my ambitions as a fan.

indeed, wait until we play an entertaining game with heart, passion and desire, as opposed to sharpening shears and selling lucky heather,

| Then relationship towards the end went sour but I thank them for what they did. When you look at where the club was 12 years ago as to where it is now they have vastly improved us as a club.
