| seen some great players at fc,toppo, crane, sterling, knocker,j smith, swain i could go on,but for me knocker was a living legend, the word GOD springs to mind.
as for the coach not seen one better then arthur, the players he attracted to fc was second to none, they was one big family and believe it or not since that great wembley final in 85 they are all still mates and visit each others homes,i had the pleasure of taking them on my bus last year to wembley for a reunion and it was that good ive been asked to take them again this year, patrick, puckering, tindal, sutton, rose, taffy,k james, all great people and are still the best of friends, like arthur said he created a family and also enjoyed plenty of silverware.

| Although I've had many favourites over the years and enjoyed watching different players at different times, it's got to be Arthur Bunting and Norton as the best I've seen for Hull.

I agree, but the one thing that always sticks in my mind from those days was how virtually every signing 'fitted in' with the team and complemented each other. We also had the likes of Harkin and Dean happily fighting for a place at seven.
Bunting as you say did have a "wadge of cash" but he bought the right players at the right time.
Bunting for me as coach and Knocker for his brilliance as a player.

| Favourite coach bunting although smith was probably a better coach, favourite player knocker although sterling was probably a slightly better player but wasn't here long enough to oust Norton.
Roy Francis was before my time but was regarded as a visionary in his time with Hull and I doubt you can go far past whitely for the greatest player of all time

For the coach I will go for Brian Smith because although he never won anything at Hull he turned some very average players at the time into good players.'"
sterling pretty much carried us to wembley on his back in 1985

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

| Been going since about 94' - 95' time, when I was about 4, so only remember about the last 10 years properly.
Swain definatley sticks out for me, B & W legend. Fitz's work rate is also hard to come by, awesome.

True, I wonder if in 3 or 4 years when he's long gone (or head coach!) Fitz will be mentioned in threads like this. Will certainly be difficult to replace that work rate when he retires.

That could have been me writing that post!
