Totally agree and hopefully means we dont see Washbrook again.

As good as Obst is playing, we need Long for his kicking game to turn the other team around. I'd try Long and Obst with Houghton starting and Horne on the bench. Then when houghton needs a rest, switch Obst to 9 and Horne at halfback.

I've said on here before that I'd have Obst rotating with Houghton at 9, but by the sound of how he's played in the halves in the last two games (Murdoch described him as having 'the game of his life'), I can't see the justification for moving him.

Agar hasn't the balls to leave out Long if he's fit though.

Eventhough Obst has been, arguably, our best HB so far? he was brilliant today and showed exactly why he was brough in.

I must admit, I'm edging towards that point of view myself. If he's playing well there, let him stay there. Long has been inconsistent even when he's been fit.

It won't happen though. Take the whole Whiting/Tansey situation last year as an example.

I believe that Sean Long must play himself back into the side. I think Sam Obst should partner Richard Horne, [as some of my previous posts have stated] until circumstances change. In otherwords either one of them gets an injury or looses form, which I hope will not happen to either player.

Sean Long has been a quality player [as his playing record shows]. I think, however, no matter what is quoted in public by certain people, his interest in the team is not what it should be and in the game not what it used to be. To some extent I can understand that, however, if he is being paid a large amount of money, he will 'soldier-on' and one cannot blame him for that.

yeah Thats what i saying.. Long isnt affraid on controvesy.. Hes been there and done it.. End of day, how many games has he played for us.. In them games, how many has he peformed to the best of his ability.. If he was focussed on us he wunt of give up the captains armband..

Longy has always struck me as a player who can be quite moody. When hes in love with the game they is nobody better to have but when hes distracted by something in his personal life he just totally switches off on the rugby side of things.

IMO I think Longy has found it harder living away from his family then he expected and this is affecting him on the field. I know hes a professional and should be able to deal with this but its just the type of person Long is.

Thats a fair assessment mate,but I would have thought he was more professional than that.Maybe his heart still belongs to Saints.

Obst to stay at 7 with Horne. Long on the bench. He has no right to displace either of them. Let him earn his shirt back...... If he can!

I was of the opinion that Long should be back in the starting line up when fit however Obst has done a good job thus far so deserves to keep his spot.
