| Was always a possibility, neither club owns the stadium so the clubs owners can take the club anywhere. Could the council be left with a stadium and nobody to use it?

Also, some of the Allams family are FC pass holders, so I doubt he would "damage" the club. Maybe he'll take us on aswell!'"
I think that's a pretty niave view. We pay around £1/2m a year to play at the KC which is chicken feed to the Allam's. Do you really think that we have the financial clout to take them on should they want to get us out of the stadium, or would we be in a strong bargaining position on things like rent increases, use of facilities, shop rent etc etc? We already have their players publicly saying they're making mistakes because of problems we cause with the pitch (rightly or rorngly it doesn't really matter if it is the perception).
Whilst the council own the stadium I feel we're pretty safe. If it's sold, then it's a whole different ballgame. What if a new owner comes along? What if developers get involved? There are a large number of scenarios which could put our use of the stadium at risk.
And you don't amass a £100m+ fortune without being prepared to make unpopular decisions or step on a few toes

The Allams won't get permission to build their new stadium, if our council stays strong there'll be no need to worry. Its scare tactics, nothing more. As Coddy said, a 40000 capacity stadium for a team that barely fully sold out the KC in 2 years of premier league puffball? And taking it away from a city centre location? The guys a fool if he thinks that's a good idea.

| I wouldn't worry about this posturing by the Allams. A new stadium at Melton will never happen. They couldn't afford to build it without the supporting infrastructure - shops, pubs, restaurants. There would also be tremendous opposition from local residents to any planning application nor would the City fans want to trek out there.
If the Allams were to buy the KC they wouldn't write KUHCC a cheque for £40m; they would pay for it by borrowing money secured against the stadium and the debt would be Hull City's not theirs. That should worry the City fans.

If i was a City fan i'd be more worried about May, Jimmy will be back to take another £4.68million from the club

| Coming from Sheffield a stadium at Melton would be ideal!
However, as others have said, it won't happen. Too many variables to overcome and the mention of mortgage arrangements in the HDM article should have everyone freaking out. No doubt Peter Ridsdale will be brought in to oversee it

| Quote: Pal of Mine "The article says both Hull and KR will be offered the chance to go there.
Can't see this happening, can you imagine the people of Melton wanting this? The hassle of getting there? He speaks about opening an old railway halt (sounds familiar), but that won't happen. The only benefit I could see is that it MAY be marginally easier for away fans?'"
This was talked of for the KC and the estimated cost was around £4m, this being back in 2001.
The Allams have a few quid, but £60m would put a major dent into their wealth. Where do they think these extra City fans are going to come from? In their last season in the premier league they were not selling out a fair few matches in a ground which had only around 25000 seats available.
Hot air, nothing else!

| Whatever happens, looks a distinct possibility that your boys will be playing in a 40,000 stadium, whether it being the KC or at Melton.
Your matches will have about as much atmosphere as Hunslet when they were at Elland Road.

| This is just "bully boy" negotiation (or lack of it) from City's new owners.
Unfortunately you get this sort of thing from aggressively "commercial" new owners - just think of people like Robert Maxwell and Mohammed Al-Fayed.
The council should call their bluff I reckon.

We're coming to make some noise!: |

| Quote: east hull FC fan "Hang on, you refused to use the stadium, you're now getting money from the council to improve your own - but you'd want a cut? kcuf ffo.'"
Are you really going to continue going on about a loan from HCC? Get it into that head of yours, Rovers and partners are going to have to PAY BACK the money we have borrowed.
This city voted these councillors in, if they decide to sell the community stadium why should they hand you cash to build a new stadium? it wasnt them that built it in the first place and you agreed to move from the Boulevard. Nobody elses fault is it? (Your logic not mine).
We refused to use the stadium just as much as your fans would refuse to move to Melton. We are an East Hull team and should not be expected to move to a West Hull home. The council knew we would refuse but had to be seen to offer the oportunity even though it would have made it very difficult given the rules about playing a match the night before a football game.
Basically if you were to accept a new 20k stadium from the council they would have to at least offer us a similar deal. If it were to be built at say Costello do you honestly think they could again offer us use of the stadium given East Hull has little enough as it is?

One look at your clubs recent history shows that I would rather the council invested in Icelandic banks again. You CAN'T AFFORD to pay it back until you average 10k attendances at least.

We were given assurances (and a pretty lengthy lease) when we moved, if we were adversely affected by any sale I'd expect us to be compensated. Also, I never mentioned anything about a new stadium, thanks.

Firstly, if it was worked into the deal that the Allams paid for the stadium there'd be feck all you could do.
Secondly, if you offered me shares in a company you'd invested in and i'd refused, you then went on to sell that investment to move elsewhere would you offer me anything? No.

I doubt it will happen either tbh but if it did then it would create some uncertainty for us.
