You're right but this forum is not the place to look for respectful debate more's the pity.

| Remember his return at wembley in 2008. One of the bravest and most memorable performances ever seen by a Hull Fc player.
Even if undercooked again will do a far better job at 6 than Turner, who can't even dive on a loose ball.

Turner is raw but has already managed to put a centre through a gap more times in 2 games this season than Horne in the last 10. I really rate Horne and cant wait to see him back fit but i dont understand the stick Turner is getting.
For me if Turner keeps this form up Horne may get into the side at right centre of full back... depends where Agar wants to keep Whiting.

| Put a centre through a gap - I must have missed that. Or do you mean simply passing the ball along the line to Yeaman against Rovers.
Never a stand off in a million years i'm afraid. Raw, he may be, shouldn't be really, what is it, his 4th season in SL now?
Not having a go at him directly, our coach wouldn't know a stand off if Brett Kenny ran up to him with a t-shirt saying I am a stand off.

Doubt very much he will be back, still not in contact training as far as I am aware.

| He missed the first two games and I wouldn't mind him missing a few more if it means that he comes back fully fit.

Anyone with a SHORT memory would have difficulty recalling Horney playing at all.I have seen Horney right from the day he made his debut at Leeds as a 16 year old and folding a rampaging Darrel Fleary with a textbook tackle as a 16 year old. Also seen him play some fantastic games for us when his partnership with Judas was at it's prime.
The argument for me is his recent unfortunate history with injuries and illness ,where does sentiment stop and reality kick in.He will be on a VERY VERY good salary at Hull and to be honest if it was anyone else other than OUR Horney, would people still be saying give him a chance.A lot of people complained about Berro not being worth the money while he was here.Ask yourselves this, has Horney been good Value for his last contract ? The answer has got to be NO.I do respect the kid and hope he comes back to reclaim some of his past form, however recent history suggests to me that he won't.
Hope I'm Wrong.

Good post, makes you wonder what Morgan would do with him, as we know Morgan has no sentiment at all

Agree wholeheartly.
Horne's been a terrific servant for this club for well over 10 years, both on and off the pitch...
But the reality is he's now persistantly injury-prone,and has invariably lost his pace.
Sentiment is one thing, but it doesn't win you football matches.

How many of those games Turner actually played 6? He's hardly an experienced player even after 3 or 4 seasons in SL. Passing the ball along the line as you put it is more than we usually do!

| Dave, he executed the play well for Yeamos try but lets be honest about it, he's simply not a half back, not at SL level anyway.
There's no flair, no buzz, it looks unnatural to him - that's not me having a go at the kid, it's a fact. Most hf backs are naturals and even with good coaching (so he's no chance with our current regime) he won't make it.
