Quote: kingsway cat "Morning guys!
With rumours circulating that we have signed Motu Tony I was just wanting bit of information on him.
I always associated him with a decent squad player whilst playing for you, always able to slip in where ever needed and put in 100%
I know he was released and then has been playing low level rugby union, so that doesn't sound to good to me. Is he shot? or just simply gone crap?'"
Motu Tony (Whitehaven – Wakefield)
John Kear is supposedly in the market to bring former Hull FC full back and utility player Motu Tony to Belle Vue. The former New Zealand international who worked with Kear back in Hull has been passed around to many clubs over the past 2 years, and is looking for a permanent and long term deal back in the Super League.
RLT’s Likely-Hood Rating: 8/10

Not realy sure about these signings, I wouldn't be happy if any of them had signed for Hull.
Poor recruitmnet for wakefield so far this year, wouldn't be happy if I was a fan of theres.
Wouldn't be suprised to see them slip a couple of places in the league and Kear to be sacked.

| I'm fearing the worst for Wakey this season. A big turn around of players and with the 2012–14 licences knocking on the door, they need as many positives as they can get.

| Motu was a cracking player but I can't help feel he will never get back to his best after all his injury problems.

Youre right he probably wont get back to that level. I would however be very tempted to offer him a 1 year deal if he could prove his fitness to play 9 with Houghton.

i see what you are saying but imagine the fans if we did that. They would be in uproar signing an injured player etc etc. If I thought he could play for a year then I would do it but I have no idea on his current fitness tbh.

According to someone who had seen him play onion a lot he'd got back to a decent level of fitness. I guess a pay as you play deal might suit us better but maybe not him if he can get a permanent deal at Wakey. He's only 27/28 i think, just really like the bloke and would be tempted.
We could do worse than getting him to put 3 stone on and play him prop, he never feared running through brick walls.

I know! If he could teach Dowes that Polynesian lack of fear he'd be looking at a nice new 2 yr deal.

More like 30. Signed for us for 2005, and IIRC he wasn't only 22/23.
