Warrington at home the effort was there but we were convincingly outclassed in the end.
Hudds at home we played well in a borefest and had more than our fair share of refs decisions go our way.
Bradford il give you but they've been the biggest joke going under McNamara this year.'"
We could quite easily have lost the hudds game. It's pleasing that we've won a couple there that we'd have lost last season though.
I think that someone posted recently that the points difference column shows the difference between a side that is palying well and winning games well compared to a side who is maybe riding their luck here and there

46188.jpg Hull FC Est.1865... Surviving without a Head Coach since 2008

Precisely. But then it's hard for some people to look beyond one individual result, in the same way it's hard for some people to manage more than one sentence per post or to use only the appropriate number of question/exclamation marks...

Agree we should be putting teams away more, having Long and Horne playing regualary would improve this though.
They have been a few games we have won comfy though, even though the score suggests otherwise, both Cas games and Catalans (away) for example.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

We're still here, still sending out the message to anyone who will listen that this club should be more, so much more, than it is right now.
Yes, Thursday night was fantastic. Yes, doing the double over our nearest and dearest will always put a smile on all our faces. Yes, we have had a couple of other performances (chiefly Saints) which have cancelled out some of the dross we've had to endure these last two years. Yes, we've improved position wise on 2008/09 (not too difficult).
But, BUT
We are still way way short of where this club should be. A club of our size, fanbase, income streams etc should be at the very top of the game, genuinely challenging for honours year on year (as Leeds & Saints have been), being one of those teams that the rest of the competition look at as the benchmark to aspire too.
We are still short, by some considerable distance, of those lofty standards. And some of us on here believe that we will continue to fall short of our potential whilst the current coaching regime is in place. We should be aiming to progress to a situation which sees this club as top dogs in SL.
However well the team played on Thursday night (and don't forget if Peter Fox had been one stride further forward we may well have lost a game we should have had won by half-time), there are some people on this board (Jake, Uncle Junior, Paul M, Baldy, myself) who are convinced that this club will not reach its full potential under the stewardship of Richard Agar. That is our opinion and I for one still have to see anything which has made me change my mind.
That is the gripe that the non-agar believers have. Richard Agar is not the coach to take us to the mountain top and deliver the success that this group of supporters deserve. And for as long as he remains in place we will be merely treading water/falling short of our true potential.
So, in answer to your original question, the doom and gloomers are still here, waiting for the day when the rest of you acknowledge that we was right all along
P.S. you've now gone and spoilt the good mood I've been in since 10:00 Thursday night .

Passion commitment and effort come before the performance for me. I dont support hull to see us win everything under the sun, i support them to watch them try their very best in everything they do. We will get there!

Wouldn't you say that "Passion, commitment and effort" are three attributes that have been missing too often in recent times. I don't support Hull Fc in order to see them "win everything under the sun" either, if I did I would have stopped a long time ago. But don't you think this club is capable of so much more in terms of quality of performance and standard of Rugby which in turn would lead to us seeing silverware been paraded around the KC. I enjoy my Rugby in any kind of weather, but it frustrates me that we seem to eternally settle for second best when we could be so much more.
I hope you're right and we do get there, but as I've already stated I have major doubts that we can reach our destination with Agar driving the bus.

Passion, commitment and effort shouldn't be things we need to 'get right'. They should be in evidence every single game.

And do you feel that Richard Agar is the man to ensure that Passion, commitment and effort are present and correct in each game we play. Along with a bit of tactical nous, a plan B as back up for when the original game plan is ineffective, and the ability to spot opposition weaknesses and act accordingly. Because I have major doubts that Mr Agar ticks each (or indeed any) of those boxes.

Sometimes the other team is just better on the day no matter how hard we try. For all we know he could give the greatest speaches before the game, have the gameplans in place and back ups incase things dont work, then the players dont quite transfer that onto the pitch.
I think at times people jump on agars back for some defeats, but also get carried away and expect too much with an odd win here and there.
Superleague is a close game now and if your 10% off your game you will more than likely lose no matter who your playing

Great post mate. I love the club as much as anyone and want success as much as anyone. It's that, and only that, which makes me want to see agar leave and go and learn his trade and make his mistakes elasewhere, and for the club to recruit someone who can takes us to a level agar can't

Keep the faith Jake, one day they will all see the light and come over to our way of thinking. The few will become stronger as the infidels see the errors of their ways.
