I just said on another thread, don't think we need to replace Cusack, just move Lauaki to prop. He's not a great second rower, and I think he would do a better job for us at Prop. I would then play Fitz, Tickle and Manu from the off, and bring on Washy/Whiting then at 13, for whoever is tired, and have a ball handler for the last 15 mins of the half at 13 to try and unlock hopefully tired defence.
I think we need wingers and halfbacks and a priorty. Think that this years recruitment is going to be minimal, next years crucial.

Don't mind Lauaki at prop, but if we can get him running on to the ball out wide then he would be devastating.

I'm starting to think that no matter where he runs he isn't devastating. 2 good games in and FC shirt and doesnt run the ball in hard enough for me.

| SB is going to be here next season but if there was ever a player who needed the off season it is Shaun, he needs to go home, get some sun and surf and deal with family issues that he simply cant do here! he is fatigued both physically and mentally to be fair and is still suffering family bereavment issues which is understandable so far from home.
with a decent end of season and a good break back in Oz on the beach we will see the old SB back again and we will need him too.
lets not get carried away on the "get rid" crazy train ok, SB is a world class player that has had more injuries than he would have expected all of which has hampered his time here...
Think of RW, he came good after worse injuries didnt he??? and everyone wanted rid of him i recall too

| I'm sorry EXPRO but Berrigan is no longer world class, he may have been at one time, but he hasn't shown anything in the time he has spent at Hull that comes close to being world class.

I agree his shiney moments have been few and far between but i guess he isnt as young or as fast as he once was but he still grafts thats for sure, however he has had an unlucky run of injuries and issues etc but with a good off season he will come good and I think he will shine in the play offs too as that is what he has a lot fo experience in, the big ones!!!
Problem we have is we have been blessed with world class legends at hooker and loose man at Fc over the years and everyone is measured against those men

Yes we've had world class players like Swain, but then we bring an Oz international world class hooker over and he's not at the level to lace the boots of Swain. We shouldn't label Berro world class if he isn't, and we should pay him the salary that a world class player would demand.

We being saying we will see best of berro last 2 off seasons and hasn't happened another year on it won't either . Think most people agree would have being an ideal time to let berro go not because he's rubbish or anything stupid like that just because we could use his wages a lot better elsewhere in the team and also houghton is developing all the time and is now 1st choice hooker so were will he fit in . Yes he can be interchange hooker but too much of a luxury just to play 25-30 mins a game

| I get the feeling we've been spekaing to players and coming to informal agreements which can't, of course, be formalised at this stage, only to be left out in teh cold when a better offer comes along. Big problem with the quota rules is that average British players suddenly get very expensive

Berrigan's not really delivered world class performances over the last 3 seasons, so I don't expect him to next season. Yes, there have been plenty of mitigating circumstances, mainly injuries to him and others. Yes, there have been far worse signings whilst I've been a supporter. Yes, things would have been even worse in 2008 and 2009 without him. But unless something startling happens next year, I'd imagine many will look at his big reputation when signed and £600,000 over four years and feel a bit disappointed.

It's not even the money we've paid him, it's the fact we've seen nothing of the world class player he undoubtedly was/is, which has been a massive disappointment for me. Best option for both parties for me would be to release him from the final year of his contract and let him find a club in Oz where he can be in a more comfortable environment with his family
