It was a poor display and a disappointing response to the Huddersfield defeat.
It's certainly going to be tough for us to make 4th now. Warrington can do us a favour against Leeds tomorrow as can Saints the week after.
I'd be happy with 5th given the last two seasons.

| Poor display with the ball, decent defensive stint. Agree with Mrs B. we are set to go backwards now with Longy gone unless Tansey can take the bull by the horns and produce some displays in the halves.
And [ilet's be honest[/i the OP is gutted we won last night and gutted we are as high as 4th.  |

Let's be honest, I'm only gutted that we're not in one of the 3 places above us.
If we finish 4th it will be a good season, however I still don't believe that the current coaching set up can turn us from a side that may occassionally finish in the top 4 to one that has a real chance of winning trophies

we were playing panic rugby last night. too many un-necessary off loads. we dont need to score every time we got the ball.its nice to see hull playing expansive rugby but there a time and place for it, not when we in our own 40 metres

Our league position is, in part, down to results of other games that have gone our way. We are not the fourth-best team in the league by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm pleased that we hung on for the win, but our performances leave a lot to be desired.

Good on you mate times have been tough for you recently with the team improving big time on the last couple of years. Keep the faith. |

Never thought Cats would be easy with a lot of big guns back and we did well to keep them to one try. Our top 2 forwards were out so our forwards could not dominate theirs. Lauaki continues to disappoint me but he had a much better 2nd half. Whatever our shortcomings you cannot fault our effort. This was a game we would definitely have lost the last 2 seasons. Big blow losing Longy but we must regroup and get on with it.

That's how a league works. Currently we are the 4th best team in the league using the only definition that matters - our position, determined by the number of points we have relative to the other teams. You can make up some other more subjective form of measurement if you like, but unless you convince the RFL to adopt it I don't really see the point.
I don't expect us to finish in 4th, particularly with the injury to long, but all this downplaying of our current position is - IMO - both laughable and somewhat pathetic. |

Quite. 10 other clubs would happily swap positions with you at the minute and (on the whole) their fans dont moan half as much as you lot! |

To be fair, until everyone has played everyone the league positions aren't a true reflection of how strong any one side is |
