| It wasn't too many seasons ago when we were all optimistic about the future of our club, with the likes of Hall, Houghton, Washbrook, Burnette, all showing early promise have since gone backwards along with R Horne who hasn't done anything since Jason Smith left.
The likes of Wheeldon, Hodgson, G Horne have improved since moving on under better coaches, I cannot comment on Lee and Anthony Thackery's progression as I haven't seen them play.
The common denominator in the regression of 'our lads' is Agar, he cannot improve on young players and he certainly cannot influence experienced players, completly out of his depth.

Washbrook was poor as! Silly penalties, clueless passing, bad judgment! I rest my case
He got 2 half breaks and one of them resulted in a pass to radford, WOW.'"
OK if all others in team would of done the same we would of had 34 chances to score instead of 4 of which we took 2 please watch the game

| Washbrook did ok, still not to the standard for a top side, but certainly wasn't amongst the worst on display for us.

Good post overall but I hear Wheeldon is being released by Rovers this year and he's been distinctly average for them.
It was only 2006 when we (or at least certainly I did) thought Hull would progress from the GF season to be regularly battling with Saints for the silverware. Even 2007 was a pretty decent year in spite of the Cooke saga. Since then it's been a terrible slide.

| I thought washbrook did ok. the worst ones was Hall and Tansey.
I wouldnt get rid af Hall though because as proved last year when he went on loan, coached by the right coach he could be a great player. but agar hasnt really got the ability to get the best out of a young talented player.

I know what you mean but he was playing in NL1. Even if he is good enough for SL then the fact he has forgotten everything Cullen taught him is in its own right a reason to get rid. Can I suggest that in NL1 he played against centres of the same ability, whereas in SL he simply has the ripped out of him by far better players ? I have given Craig 2 seasons to get it right but if Wayne Bennett coached us IMO he would be long gone.

I defended Hall to the hilt. Today was the last straw for me. Out.

| i'm sure once agar goes you'll see all of the players step up. It cant be easy playing 5 drives and a kick when you know as a player that it doesn't work

Actually with all the injuries we have if we actually did play 5 drives and a kick but did it properly with a hot chase and fast defensive line we would do better. As it is we don't have any structure at all and rely instead on off the cuff garbage which finishes with the likes of Hall, and others, coughing up possession by chucking the ball forward or straight into touch. Either that or give it to Willie and see how he gets on.

indeed, I think we could all accept playing 5 drives and a kick rugby with the injury list we have, if it entailed 5 good drives, and a good kick and chase...
not 3/4 limp drives (the ones not carried by Moa, Manu or O'Meley our only meter makers) a dire kick and no chase.

Before the injuries we weren't playing 5 drives and a kick. We were at least trying to move the ball about. Since the injuries we have [itried[/i to go back to it, but as Staffs FC points out we aren't doing it right.
There are many, many things wrong with Agar's coaching. A fixation with 5 drives is not one of them.

| i disagree. We've played a boring 5 drive and a kick type of game for a couple of years now imo both under agar and sharp. How much decent ball does our back line get?
