| Agree he had to go. Why not do it at the end of last season so we'd have had a fighting chance of getting a replacement.
If, as MrZHead says, we knew he was going half way through last season why was he given the 5 shirt? The nuances of the degree of seriousness of the court case will have been known by Hull, so what were they holding on for?

Someone posted a timeline on here a little while back. IIRC the club expected Raynor's case to be done before the season started, which would allow them to either get rid or keep depending on the result. It got postponed at the last minute so they were faced with keeping him and possibly losing him later, or just getting rid and having less disruption once the season was underway.

Thanks, Kosh.
So he went at Christmas in the end. Still don't understand when we spent his wages between then and the start of the season.

The cash side of things seems unclear to say the least. A number of people seem pretty sure that we have no cap space left though.

| Poor Motu, one of my favourites, but it seem's to be that foot injury yet again (although not sure if it's the same foot).
I would of grasped the chance to have him back if we could do it under the cap and he was injury free but alas it is not to be.
Hope he makes a quick recovery and we could maybe give his wife a job on a Wigan/Warrington salary (tee hee) whilst he plies his trade for the black and Whites out of the kindness of his heart.

Really?! I was one on Motu's greatest fans, but I mean, seriously?!

Dont forget any payoff that Raynor was given will come off the cap too.

| Quote: hullbg "Would not be too sure about that. I cannot see how we are at the maximum with the squad we have unless we are paying vastly inflated wages which is not in the ethos of the club nowadays.'"
Wouldnt say vastly inflated. We do have some big earners though like Fitz, Berro, O'Meley etc.
Rule has said that we have no space on the cap.
Also dont forget that players like Tom Briscoe will be on increased packages this season after now becoming an international.
Standard pay rises too and paying Raynor off during the season will all hit the cap.
