I know R.L. is rough and tough,but I was disappointed in Newton`s tactics of trying to lay out opposing players.He is actually better than that, isn`t he?

They were accidents.

Not condoning any cheap shots mate,it just SEEMED Newton was having a field day.

O'Meley's wasn't even referred so can't have been that bad.

O'Meley's only crime was going in too aggressive to complete a tackle on someone who had the ball, who (considering he had the ball) would have known there was impact coming.
There was nothing legal about Newton's off-the-ball charge on Tansey from behind, who (considering he wasn't even facing the same direction and didn't even have the ball) was defenceless.

Which one is cowardly?

The one that got put on report, that's which one. And you even gained an advantage from it because the idiot referee brought the game back 60m for it, so how the Rovers fans can complain about being hard done to is beyond me...

Of course people are disappointed. It conceded a penalty. But he was trying to affect a tackle and just went in too aggressive. It's completely different to someone hitting people off the ball, butting/elbowing in other players on the ground, etc. as they can't really say they were trying to do anything else but break the rules. Your tactics blatantly involved breaking the rules. That's why it was so much sweeter that you lost.

Maybe Galea is so p*ssed about Lauaki not getting binned because the tactics were "get them down to 12 men, and then maybe we might have a chance of scoring!"

And the cheap shot you refer to no one on sky saw anything wrong with .in fact One actually said it was a harsh penalty
