Just been looking at the team stats aswell.

We have made 5619 metres which is the best overall, despite us only being 3rd for total carries, 117 metres ahead of Warrington and 167 ahead of Leeds.

We have also kicked 99 times in general play which again is more than any other team which shows that we are playing out a really good percentage of our sets. This is backed up by us also making less errors than anyone else.

All of these stats go to show how dominant our pack has been, great go forward without having to force daft passes.

If e keeps it up he will beat Richard Swain's statistics in most areas. Different players in different position, I know, but still very impressive.

i have a feeling that if berro stays clear of injurys he will have a great season ,with the pack we have and his class ,there is no reason why he shouldnt

I think the change in culture will see Berrigan back to the top player he was when he was in Aus.

totaly agree!! he will certainly have more chance to catch the defence's on the back foot ,well thats if the refs dont allow teams to spoil the play the ball EVERY week!!

Whilst these stats confirm that we are in the presence of greatness here, should we be concerned that Fitz is top tackler in the comp, 2nd for marker tackles, 6th for carries and 8th for metres, but no other Hull forward apart from Dowes (for marker tackles) features in the top 25 for these measures? The pack is playing well as a unit, but Fitz is definitely the glue holding it all together.

O'Meley is 17th for metres with 461.

As a team we havn't been required to make that many tackles anyway because of our good ball retention so I'm not suprised that Fitz is the only one who appears in the top few. Salford for example have 5 players in the top 25 but as a team they have been required to make 250 more than us. Wakefield and Saints on the other hand have made less tackles than us and have no one in the top 25.

Stats are generally a reflection of how long a player is on the field. Fitz has been doing the full 80 pretty much so you'd expect his stats to be much higher than someone who only does 40 to 50 mins a week.

Doesn't detract from the fact he has the stamina to be on the pitch for that length of time and get through that amount of work though. The fact that most players are not capable of getting through that amount of work whilst maintaining such a high standard just makes the stats more impressive for me. He is still making 7 meters per carry despite the workload which is 0.5 meters better than Radford, a whole meter better than Cusack.
