Similar could be said about Shayne McMenemy. One of my favourite players of all time.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

He brought a certain amount of defensive toughness to the pitch didnt he. We looked tighter with him out there.

| For the best in terms of ability alone the two that stand out above everyone are Jason Smith followed by Judus, Richie Barnett is another one who just oozed class, and some the solo efforts that Colin Best produced put him up there as one of the most talented players to wear the shirt this decade.
Although taking everything into account the two best players for the club this decade have been Richad Swain and Richard Horne in my opinion, a mention to Prescott aswell although he played some of his best stuff for us in the 99 season aswell as 2003.

He has been consistantly average over a long period, nothing more IMO.
Swain was consistanly top class, whilst Jason Smith and Richie Barnett (snr) were both world class performers.

| I'd have to say the two best players have got to be Swain and Jason Smith.
When Smith had the ball in hand he seemed to be one of only a few players that seem to be able to slow the game down to their own pace, and could control a game magnificently. Was such a honour to see him wear a Hull FC shirt.
Swain was also great to watch for other reasons. He was the ultimate pro and seemed fearless in defence and I don't understand why teams would run at him as we all knew full well that they'd be tackled and dominated in the tackle. My favourite player I've ever seen play for Hull.
Again, honourable mentions to Prekkie, Richie Barnett, Besty, Cookie and McMenemy as we played so much better with him in the pack.

could not have put it better myself, Smith a magician with the ball Swain complete pro, i remember Smith robbing Gary Connelly who is a strong bloke one on one, with minutes to go and we went on to score i think we drew the game? Swains defining moment has to be Cardiff chasing down the drop kick on Sinfield and then calming the Hull players when they thought we had won but there was still seconds to go.

| Jason Smith was pure class, a fantastic player, Swain an all round pro, hard to pick between the two.
Richie Barnett was a pleasure to watch, Cooke was a fine player for us, Best, Maher theres been a few, my top three would be Smith, Swain and Horne!

| Quote: Big Dave T "Just out of interest, why wouldnt Hull fans choose him? He was our most important attacking weapon for numerous years in the noughties and we have been suffering in attack for the last 2 seasons since he went imo.
The mud around him leaving shouldnt tarnish the fact that he was a great player for FC.
My answer would be Swain though.
I would consider the best player to be the complete package on and off the pitch, like Richard Swain was.Cooke was a great player for us but the model pro he definitely was not.
