George Harrison? the man was a genius on the guitar. Lennon and McCartney could only dream of writing songs as good as Here comes the sun and Something.

Also Lennon was the worst of the lot at spouting his mouth about what we all should do/believe in.

Quote: Bighead "why do media types allow vegetarians a platform to spout their crap?'"

Because they're pretty harmless.

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he shouldn't have made them out of meat.

Anyway - Paul McCartney sits his kids down and says, "I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is your mum has died. The good news is we can go to McDonalds for dinner".

agree with most of the above posts,, macca " shut the little hole in your face ,and sing us some old un,s" ,, bono the phoney flew his hat half way round the world so he could wear it at a concert. and as for lennon, he wanted peace, he wont get it much quieter now.

agree , those of a certain age remember Mcartney as a clever sod from the off. True devotees sing the praises of the late great George Harrison. i wouldnt call him a "genius" on the guitar . He was a top bloke and highly respected by artists of his time add to that list What is life, brilliant.

2 points here. McCartney says he wants this to cut down on meat production, mainly to reduce the number of cows supposedly producing excess methane gas. OK then clever clogs, what do we do with all these worthless cows then? Set fire to them? That's really gonna help isn't it, you tool!

The other one is, if we all buy into it and eat veggie food for one day a week, surely our methane production would far out weigh what the cows produce!

McCartney should stick to what he does best, counting his millions and courting self important prosthetic wearers.

Did he, or did you just make that up?

He was speaking about the GHG contribution, derived from meat production

No, we eat them.

See first answer above, you seem to have some problem identifying where GHGs come from

Yes to the first point, the second was unnecessary and irrelevant

If Macca is blaming cows, shouldn't we eat them even faster to try and get rid of them. When we've got through all the cows...and that'll take some time, we should start on horses cos there's alot of them and a fair bit of meat on them.

So cutting up animals into smaller bits causes excess pollution? OK then.

Quote: cod'ead "No, we eat them.'"

I'll drink to that.

Quote: cod'ead "See first answer above, you seem to have some problem identifying where GHGs come from'"

So scientists who have claimed excess methane production is contributing to global warming are wrong then? I will bow to your superior knowledge.

Quote: cod'ead "Yes to the first point, the second was unnecessary and irrelevant'"

I will, however, not bow to your sense of humour bypass icon_biggrin.gif

I've a lot of time for Paul McCartney and his music. He has always had a bad press although this is often of his own making as with this story.

If he wishes to be a vegetarian then good luck to him but personally I love a nice rare beef fillet or lamb steak. I think his international jet setting is probably doing more damage to the environment than me tucking into a juicy sirloin.

BTW John Lennon although another great songwriter could be a particularly nasty piece of work and was certainly not the working class hero he had people believe.
