If you could stretch the offer to three figures you could buy the whole street. !!!

| It would seem to be a good idea on the face of it, indeed it could be an inspiration for younger players to play on hallowed turf. The HU POSTCODE area also needs a stadium it can use for cup matches for the amateur teams as well as the juniors. I hope they include a clubhouse as well and that could be a good source of revenue for the club as well as providing suitable accomodation for local groups.
I hope the club can go forward with this and coupled with the NHS involvement could be a bonus. The project coould be off the ground quickly at least rugby could be played there as soon as the dog track is ripped out and the turf relaid . Getting the reserves back playing within the city is a must, Brantingham is nice but more supporters would go I am sure if it where closer to home.
[iGoing down the Boulevard to see FC aces[/i could again be part of the Hull vocabulary

I think it would be a good move too
the only snag I can see is that would the NHS want a new facility so close to HRI and that new Health Centre on Anlaby Road? would they feel they are just spending more money on the same area?

| Depends what the spatial strategy is of the council (not just the NHS). Both North Hull (PFI bid in place for housing) and the NASA area are prime sites for this sort of development.

| Is the site big enough? I would have thought a training facility would need 2 or 3 pitches, indoor facilities and administration facilities before you even start to think about the NHS part of the operation

| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "Don't panic we will never move back there to play!!!!
Just passing on what I have heard But digging around today in an effort to get some news for the next Diary I found something out that could just not waitr till next week! My pals at the Council were very cagey but alluded to the fact that the Mail had got hold of a story that had the Boulevard as the prefared option for the new training and health centre. I have always thought that the Council and the club could find some mutual benifit from any such scheme and I have always supported the idea in the Diary. How true it is I don't know but its a good source.
Apparently the possibility of playing Academy games and reserve matches back there has not been ruled out, but initially we would be moving our training operation to the site which would see the considerable investment from the NHS the club and the Council scheduled for the university site switched to the crumbling edifice of our old home and the community around the ground. I would really welcome it and it would be a great development for the area. Any move would not though allow any first team rugby to play there, that would be part of any covenant!
I hope this is true because if it is it would be great to move all our off the field operation back to the old stamping ground as well as getting some great health facilities into the area.
I guess we should watch this space! Just a rumour at the moment though and it might just all be pie in the sky talk! I would really welcome it though!
Thoughts anyone?'"
Planning was approved at least 6 months ago for re-development. You're slacking old boy.
I bet the players can't wait to travel down St Georges Rd/Boulevard/Selby St everyday
At least City have got it right by setting up near most of the players houses.

You wouldn't need all the cark park space or terracing so 2 pitches would be possible but would involve major redevelopment. Would be a lot more expensive than starting with a flat field
