Absolutely spot on.
It's the coaches' (and I include the sideline coaches and the on field "management"icon_wink.gif responsibility to motivate the team and it's clearly not happening. Once heads go down there seems to be no one interested in getting them back up again with the result being what we saw on Friday.
Interestingly when I got home on Friday Sky Sports had a Bobby Robson tribute on and the first thing I saw was him talking when he took over at Newcastle, who were on a shocking run of form. He said
"The players confidence is very low and players with low confidence struggle to perform to their potential. It's my job to given them that confidence and get them performing again"
Now if that isn't condemnation of Agar, Sharp etc and their style of coaching, I don't know what is.

| Richard Agar is not the whole problem, perhaps he is the symptom of a deep lying problem................ mediocrity
We have for so long now gone for the cheap option every time, Kear was cheaper then Bomber, then Sharp, then Agar and finally Jon Sharpe. I do not blame the coaches concerned as I do thing Rich Agar is doing the best he can, I think the same of Thorman as well. They simply are not upto the job and that brings me to appointment of those coaches. This is where the problem lies and I do think our board need to take a long hard look at themselves. I have been critical of certain parts of our boards activities and if only they could match up there clever, astute business accumine with some poor decision making on coaching and playing personel.
That is where the problem is and until they sort it all out, it will continue.

Yes as unfortunately its a results business at the end of the day and the buck stops with him. He has been found out as a head coach and is out of his depth. He has shown very little in his ability to be able to work with a group of players regardless of the old chestnut that keeps getting trotted out "Its not his team". Although he has been with the club and knows the players what they can/can't do but nothing changes, we have seen no improvement infact quite the reverse.
Warrington were in a similar situation to us but they were man enough and brave enough to realise they have put a promising coach in at the deep end but threw him a life belt in the way of Tony Smith.
Nothing I have seen this season in way of the style of play, apparent lack of tactics, no game plan, team selection, use of interchanges, players still making the same basic and fundemental (schoolboy) errors gives me any confidence in Agar as the leader of this great club.
The club need to admit that they rushed Agar into the head coaches job and remedy this fact by getting in a proven coach as we will waste more time and lose fans next season.
The board are also at fault for accepting mediocrity but its a business decision for them as they realise the Black & White fans will still turn up so they risk paying out less to make a greater yield on their income, instead of speculating in quality playing and coaching staff to accumulate a greater fans base and ticket sales.
But for me Agar talked the talk but failed to walk the walk.

Spot on.
Warrington are by no means the finished article but they have showed a massive improvement under Smith (Quins game aside)
I have always stuck by our Coaches (and players) but like a lot of fans I've run out of patience. Any other club Agar would have been shown the door by now, and I don't buy any of this "its not my team cr@p"
Agar (+Sharp) have to go, and sooner rather than later, sad but true.....

Errm what about Smacknamara they look like finishing below us and he is still getting the vote of confidence on a weekly basis!
Not that I aren't agreeing with you

| Whatever we say or feel will not change anything.
Agar will be here next season . Rule has publicly stated this fact.
I feel he is out of his depth and the Club should have gone for a big name when Sharp was sacked. Maybe a more able DOR would help Agar along?
2010 will be Rich Agar`s nemesis . He has recruited the players he wants.
Nothing less than a top 4 finish in 2010 will be tolerated.

| Laughable,
can any of us, hand on heart, say we'd still be in a job if we performed as pathetically as ur side have done?
NO
Yes, Rich has diabetes and has been injured, yes Thorman was never the answer, yes some players like a drink (and by half time on Friday I would have joined them)
People need to STOP making allowances, Hull FC is, quite simply, dead in the water. Agar couldn't drive a coach, let alone coach a side.
It's simple
Agar is useless
Sharp is useless
Last is useless
Crooks is usless
the announcer is useless
the board are useless
the CLUB is useless
I'd rather be back the the Boulevard watching Tim Street and Chicko Jackson, at least they put their bodies on the line, not like this lot.
And remember, Horne and his colleagues pull in an average of £60k a year for that tripe they dish out, DO YOU!?
And before the usual suspects come on, I went on Friday, so I am damn well entitled to comment.

| I don't htink the board are useless to be honest. They have delivered one of the few profitable clubs in SL. They have, however, made the mistake of appointing an inexperienced coach and an inexperienced chief exec when the club needed a strong guiding hand. Had they got those 2 appointments right then things would be massively different now. They make the full salary cap available to the coach and have put a structure in place which would work if we had the right people in place.
They need to sack sharp and agar, bring in an experienced aussie coach and then give him cart blanche to go through the club like a dose of salts. A bit of cash invested now will bring about a significant return for the club's owners in the long run

Is it not easier to make a profit when a club like Hull scrapes the barrel to bring in coaches/players on the cheap?

If you believe Richard Agar and Jon Sharp do not have the ability to effectively carry out their duties in their current roles within Hull FC then please sign this online petition. It will be handed over to the Hull FC board before the end of this season in the hope it will have the desired effect. The online petition will filter duplicate signatures and should hold some credibility when presented. Please pass the link on to everyone you feel might sign this.

Can we not have this posted in every thread please. You can have your thread and have it in your sig but we don't need the same post in every thread.

A visit to Wembley last season will have raised a few bob. Surely that will have made up for a small drop in attendances?

| Not saying Agar is the right man for your club by any means (actually think like most of you he is out of his depth) but what kind of season would you now see as a success for your club next year.
Most have admitted a major rebuild is needed and these take time in any sport, new players regardless of experience need time to gel and fit in with each other, its no surprise the teams who have finished at the top end of the table have made very few changes close season, some may not work and further tweaks will be needed.
So bearing in mind you have finished 11th (potentially this year) twice in the last two years would you be happy to get 7th or 8th next year and progress that way or would anything less than top 4 be seen as a failure and mean the end of Agar and co.
