Would improve our attacking play no end, and probably bring through our younger players better than we have recently. Probably wouldn't lead us to win anything, but would at least get us amongst the contenders again.

Can't believe people would have him back. He gets criticised on the Salford board more than Agar does on here and that's saying something, also the fact that expectation is much higher for us (CC winners/GF in the recent years) it's not very good for McRae at all.

Salford have performed above expectations this season IMO. Just because their fans think they are better than they are doesn't mean he is a poor coach. As I said before I wouldn't have him back as Head coach but I would have him back in a Director of Rugby type of role as he would bring some much needed experience to the whole set up. |

I'm very surprised at the amount of criticism he gets from Salford fans. I don't have an in-depth knowledge of their squad so maybe it's a bit stronger than I realise but the fact remains they are a newly promoted side who were never going to do any more than consolidate this season. They have had some hammerings, but they've also pulled off some very good results (beating Saints for example).
That said, I wouldnt want him back at Hull. Hypothetically, I'd take him over Agar in a second, but in terms of our long-term progression it would be a mistake to bring him back IMO.
