I think what he's saying is, they looked decent when they played off the cuff, meaning they do have some attacking ability. If this ability was harnessed into some sort of decent structure, we'd look much better.

There is no structure, hence they are playing off the cuff

Controversial but i can see where youre coming from.
Thought we looked better balanced with Thorman playing 6 rather than 7 which he seemed more natural doing too.

| Quote: Jake the Peg "I thought Lee Richie had an interesting point after the game. He said that when Hull play off the cuff they can look like a good quality side, however there is no structure to the play. To me this is all down to coaching.'" I wouldnt say we need to play off the cuff its just that barring Berrigan we play too much lateral rugby and we tend to only have 1 option for the pivot to pass to, which is down to the poor attacking structures we have in place on the flanks. I personally think alot of that is down to having a 3rd prop at 13 as they tend to be the main decoy runner for most sides.

Ok that makes much more sense, i read it as 'we have no structure when playing off the cuff'. Having listened to Lee Richardsons wise words before I believed it might have been a quote straight from the horses mouth.

No one said we need to play off the cuff. Lee Richie said we look like we are a decent side when we do play off teh cuff but this is never translated into more structured attacking play

| Quote: UllFC "I'm not getting carried away by one 40mins against a Leeds side who'd taken their foot off the gas.
the other problem is that in recent years we've tended to lift our game for the 'big' games, and then do very little in games the players see as 'lesser' games (ie our next two Cas and Celtic)
I hope they can prove me wrong and carry on the improved display, but i'm not convinced.'" If they can play like that for 40 minutes why not 80 its not bad coaching its bad attitude from players I can see why Hull are signing a lot of new players ..How many times this season they have put a good 40 in then lost it Cas/Warrington Salford in the cup Wakefield ..my opinion the players have to look at themselves

Actually think our revival last night was more to do with leeds taking their foot off the gas when they went 36 - 12 up

Definitely played a part, but at least we managed to take advantage of it for a change.

We seemed to do the same against Wakey. The game was gone, the shackles came off & they made a go of it (too little too late though).
In reality, the game plan was probably forgotten & we played on instinct instead.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "A poor start but I was pretty proud of the second half display and the way we got back into it. Imo it shows firstly that, contrary to belief, the players do still have a bit of pride and that they do have respect for Agar. It also showed that if the forwards lay a good platform we do have players that can create trys. Whiting looked good with ball in hand and safe at the back Moa bent the line every time he took it in and Houghton was Robyesque running from dummy half. On the other hand Graham Horne is not a centre imo (gets cought out to easily against good opposition). This could maybe be forgiven if, like Craig Hall, he was a dangerous attacking option, but he is not. Thorman, whilst he didn't particularly do anything wrong, looked pretty ineffective. Presuming Richard Horne and Thacks won't be fit next week I would like to see the following side next week and for the forseeable future
King-well past his best, tries the big hits every time and gets caught out every time,as he's too slow.i'm afraid his lifestyle away from the club is getting the better of him.we should get rid asap, and use his salary on a couple of young lads,as at least one might come off, which would be a better option than paying kingy to stand at the bar most nights
