Quote: wall-y "Having read and laughed at the memories from the 3d stand , how about best away memories...

Travelled to Odsal in the 80s & Watching this lad about 24 taking a dump at the top of the terraces in plain view of everyone, when the bobbies turned up to their amazement he said to a right fat un " you havnt got a hankie I can borra have ya officer??" well approx 200 people wet their pants laughing all at once , cos he was pished he had only done it inside his own pans laid on the floor which made it worse !!

worst memory was getting sparked cold as a 14 year old by the thugs at the wire that used to wear balaclavas and sling hitler salutes who charged the terrace across the corner of the pitch!
My dad got arrested and proper beaten for simply trying to protect me and some other young uns!! bad crew they were'"

My dad told me a similar story to this (obviously with Rovers) Warrington must of had a right tasty bunch back then, especially as soccer hooliganism was rife at the time.

Quote: The Brother "was that the game were john woods chipped over it hit the wall bounced back and the ref gave it
I remember that, the fans went mental. Even Woods was embarassed.

I also remember; Sterlo at Widnes, headband and all, Wigan away when Pearce and Coleman ripped them apart.

I agree about the Warrington incidents. One of the worst there was when they threw white paint on the Hull fans as they walked from the ground.

Also Featherstone during the miners strikes. We was trapped inside a car park and the coach driver made a rush for it, telling everyone to " get your heads down, I'm going for it " icon_lol.gif icon_surprised.gifops:

Passing out at Headingly while beating Rovers 12-4 Yorky Cup I think.

Suddenly found myself right next to the dug out with a St Johns geezer, best view I have ever had!

Coming back from Leigh in the middle of a snowstorm after a night match with no windows in the bus!

I have so many great memories of away games, especially in the early 90's when we went on the club coaches. As has been said, people said The Boulevard was rough but bloody hell I was scared at some of those old grounds. I remember us getting a police escort out of Widnes once and the coppers telling us to remove all colours from view if we didn't want all our windows putting through on the way past the Widnes fans!!

One that always sticks in my mind is a Halifax friendly we went to 6 or so years ago I think. It was bloody freezing, we were trouncing them, so we all started singing random songs. The rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody that day was awesome!!! icon_lol.gif

Away trip to Cas when things were always a bit heated between us.
There was a couple of skirmishes on the pitch before a scrum broke apart into a 10 man punch up.
The ref had lost control so he took the teams off during the half for a cool down.

Back on they came and the ref gave the 2 Captains an earful.
At the end of the very first set of 6 after that, a Cas player took out Gary Pearce's standing leg as he kicked the ball down the pitch. Made no attempt at the ball at all.

Cue the longest full on 2 team mass brawl I can recall seeing (apart from Gary who was prone on the floor in serious pain).
he was never the same after that.

Quote: Mrs Barista "That was excellent. I alse really enjoyed the late comeback at Post Office Road (Vaikona hat-trick I think) giving Daniel Divet grief each time Featherstone were stood under the posts for the conversions. My favourite was the win at Knowsley Road in 2006. Fantastic night.
I loved that game so much I've still got it on VHS if you're interested! Best memory was Paul Sterling's try for me but I loved Vaikona for us. We used to sing his name for almost entire games. I never thought he was as good on the wing for Bradford as he was in the centres for us.

Remember Hull against Cas 92 (i think) semi final at headingley. Don't know why but I felt more gutted after that game then any other I can remember. Think we lost 8-4, we were poor and we had a real chance of making it to Wembley for the 1st time in a quite a while. We never did and we didn't anywhere close to any real silverware for a long time after that. Mind you we'd have never won, Wigan were on there roll of 28 challenge cups on the trot at that stage icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Also remember getting ted from behind by someone at half-time as there was a bit of charging across the pitch between fans.

Another game I remember was some time in the late 90's again I think. we'd been removed from the top division due to Super League starting. Went to watch Hull at Bury against swinton, not a bad little ground by any means, but the rugby on display was shocking, it was then I realised "we're s**t!!". Sure a chorus of we're s**t and we know we are was sung many a time that season.

But we still went home and away experiencing the lows allows you to appreciate the highs!!
