Quote: Monko "It does make me wonder how the FA and football manage to secure work permits and visa's so easily. I cannot think of any pro football player in recent times been refused a visa. Maybe the RFL should have words with the FA and see how its done.'"

I suspect a lot of the football preparation etc goes on before any hint of a deal, but you can do visa transfers in the UK very quickly (there's a super premium application process that apparently only Arsenal have used - it's about £15000 per application).

Quote: PAUL M "Excellent post and imo this is more of a reason fans [imight[/i be staying away rather than anything to do with the was the moderators run it.

That said as moderators we have to accept that it has gone this way as many fans feel so fed up with certain things at the club namely Agar. We can't ask posters to be positive or negative we just have to moderate what people discuss. We do try to keep thread subjects together though so we don't have too many threads discussing the same thing.'"

yes, I did derail the thread a bit with this icon_surprised.gifops:

Quote: Kosh "Until he moved to NZ it was colourful to say the least, but I don't think it included any criminal convictions.'"

Most of his indiscretions were regarding the breaking of club rules due to drinking and timekeeping etc.

However I do remember (vaguely) that he was involved in a fight at some stage but not sure if the police were involved?

Quote: downtheante "Genuinely, the reason I very rarely post here any more is because of the continued negativity that infests almost every thread. It rarely matters what the thread is about or who started it but it always ends up being a slagging for someone, Richard Agar being the main target.

We know people don't rate Agar - but it has become tedious beyond belief how many times the same small number of people slag him off - his team selection, his rotations, his selection of people in whichever position, his ability etc. We know how these few people feel (hell it's even on a lot of their "avatars"icon_wink.gif but ffs can't we talk about something else? For example, after years of being light at 6 and 7 we have some potential depth there for next year and he and/or the board is now getting a slagging for not sorting the pack out.

If it's not Agar then it's the "public schoolboy" who isn't a fan (although my son and many of his friends at Hymers - where I think this particular victim of abuse attended - have season passes and have for may years) and Kaff who we're continually being told is ugly which is (a) rude, (b) in the eye of the beholder and (c) completely irrelevant to how she runs a club. To me, if we want debate then we need to stop everything being derailed into personal abuse of the coach, the board and any poster who try to start a topic about something or express an opinion about something that leans to the slightly positive.

Also, much of the good humour has disappeared from here. People on different sides of debates used to have a laugh with each other even when they disgreed -now it's just laughing at each other.

I might be exagerating slightly but the thrust of what I'm saying seems to be true - to me at least.'"

I post on here less these days for EXACTLY the reasons posted above. Very well said sir.

I seem to remember an article saying about charges against him being dropped.

No charges laid, and his other misdemeanour was for being drunk on a night out but again no charges.

Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "For 2012, for SO, SH and 9 we have the following

Horne
Obst
Ellis
Heremaia
Seymore
Houghton
Nicklas

Would Ellis have moved to Hull had he known there were to be so many senior players vying for the No. 7 shirt?

Will Horne be used more sparingly?

Good to have competition for places, but where we have not recruited well in the halves in the past, have the club gone over board this time?'"

think it could be curtains for Horne .

I agree, let's only post positives because that will significantly increase the debate

Maybe they have already made Horne the highest offer they are prepared to do and he's found somewhere else who will pay him more?

or maybe Horne wants to call it a day

or maybe he's staying

He'll be staying, we don't have another natural 6 at the club.
