Personally I'd like to see Briscoe and Fox at centre and wing next week and Smith get dropped, but we all know that's not going to happen! Eastmond and Tomkins are a must at 7 and 6, McGuire to the bench to cover the halves.'"
That would be interesting but it won't happen as there would be a real lack of experience, don't think either of them will be in the 17 next week.

Agreed but how do you get rid of inexperience? You could play for England against PNG or Wales or France and gain a little international experience. Not until you play against the Aussies or Kiwi's do you gain real experience. Play them and get rid of Smith.

| could not believe smith took briscoe of,they scored 1 try on the outside of him because smith went wondering again, tommy could do nothing,as he was left with a 2 on 1,maguire and sinfield oh yes and a certain smith were terible in defence, smith should never of been playing as he is leaving to union, which will leave england searching for another centre, any true rugby fan will see tommy was made the scape goat, this kid did nothing wrong, chin up tommy all us fc fans think u did yourself proud,

| Personally, I think Smith was kind in taking Briscoe off. He was getting mullered in that corner. I wouldn't have liked to have seen the lad's confidence get shattered and that's important IMO.
I agree that Smith was useless, btw.

Smith and Briscoe were not the problem imo - it was McGuire - he was shocking. The Aussies waltzed through him on that right hand side and there was little or nothing Smith and Briscoe could do to rescue the situation. Going forward he was even worse. I'd rather see Paul Cooke out there than him - and I'm not joking.

McGuire was England's worst player by some distance, and he was certainly at fault for those tries. Smith also shares the blame IMO for coming inside, leaving his winger stranded and facing multiple overlaps time and time again.
Wasn't that impressed with Peacock defending on that side either, although to be fair he's not a second rower and wouldn't be comfortable defending in that position.

Spot on - keeping Briscoe's confidence intact was more important - his centre went missing when there was work to be done (like tackling Inglis)and didn't give him a decent pass in 40 minutes - he'll be back better for the experience

| couldnt understand why england didnt play there normal game in the 1st half by putting up high balls or sticking a low ball through as they score plenty of tries week in week out in SL,instead they try the batter em up the middle which obviously didnt work for at least 3 repeat sets,i think a back to the norm should apply for the kiwi's and also use the wingers too. Just my opinion ov course

| Although Australia was great in the first half we was making it easy for them by dropping the ball in our own half for most of the half.
Mcquire once again proved hes not good enough in internationals his kicking game was awful and Aussies was walking through him like he wasnt there.
Eastmond changed the game IMO his kicking game was great and when he ran at the Aussies they couldnt handle him and HAS to start next week
