People would moan if we got Wayne Bennett as assistant!

Or do you think he is the best person who would be interested in the position ?
Hell Chris Thorman's coaching CV is more impressive.

| Most ex players move into coaching at their clubs it's a natural progression happens alot in NRL, i think its a good move by the club now for player signings!

They do and I would have no issue with Radford staying as coach of the 15's or moving up to 18's but to simply come in and be the number 2 of our club is outrageous.
How alarming would this potential situation be: Gentle gets home sick and leaves and we are left with caretaker head coach Radford

None of those players retired and immediately went into the role of assistant coach at the club they had just retired from.

It wasn't my claim. I said I broadly agreed with the thrust of Mrs B's post. To be honest, I don't know if he's more interested in business than rugby or not. The rest of the post was spot on though. I also agree with Hollywood's suggestion that the post might have been advertised externally.

| Stuart Wilkinson has been rumoured to be in for the Castleford Assistant coaches job. He would have been perfect for the Hull job. Very experienced and qualified coach with a track record of working in good Academy systems. Just what you need i think.
Radders may go on to be a very good coach but it is going to be a very steep learning curve for him at a time when Hull are looking for pretty swift success. There have also been some pretty mixed reports about his methods of working with the under 15s although i accept that working with kids is far different than working with full time pros.

| Every new appointment we've made so far has been high risk IMO. mcare as DOR - never done the job before (although probably has experienced much of the workload as a head coach), gentle as head coach - never done the job before, radford as assistant - never done the job before, head of player performance (the conditioner guy) - never worked at this level before, the new physio - unsure if she's ever worked for a professional sports team before. Now these may prove to be inspired appointments, but there is a high chance that not all of them will be. I would have preferred to have seen some more experienced people appointed although there may be an element of cost saving involved
