| Quote Bighead="Bighead"dont just blame lee smith. there were 10 players stood in a huddle for the entire game, the wingers and full back were just left stood alone on the edges. whoever decided that against australia you only need to defend a third of the pitch is to blame for the barage of tries down the centre/ second row chanels'"
Bighead in accurate post shock!
Totally agree btw

| just back from the DW.
thought I saw tom spewin up just before half time- must have got a knock/winded or summat watched hime for a few minutes and certainly didnt look right.
first half was just awfull- brightened up second half and the tries made a better atmoshere in the stadium. Eorl and Ellis looked good but some of the others seriously need to look at there performances before next saturday!!

| Quote j_hunter_hkr="j_hunter_hkr"Agree with that. I think England's resurgence was more to do with Eastmond being on the field instead than Briscoe being off it. A few poor individual reads from Smith cost us too many points in the first half down that wing.
Personally I'd like to see Briscoe and Fox at centre and wing next week and Smith get dropped, but we all know that's not going to happen! Eastmond and Tomkins are a must at 7 and 6, McGuire to the bench to cover the halves.'"
That would be interesting but it won't happen as there would be a real lack of experience, don't think either of them will be in the 17 next week.

Agreed but how do you get rid of inexperience? You could play for England against PNG or Wales or France and gain a little international experience. Not until you play against the Aussies or Kiwi's do you gain real experience. Play them and get rid of Smith.

| could not believe smith took briscoe of,they scored 1 try on the outside of him because smith went wondering again, tommy could do nothing,as he was left with a 2 on 1,maguire and sinfield oh yes and a certain smith were terible in defence, smith should never of been playing as he is leaving to union, which will leave england searching for another centre, any true rugby fan will see tommy was made the scape goat, this kid did nothing wrong, chin up tommy all us fc fans think u did yourself proud,

| Personally, I think Smith was kind in taking Briscoe off. He was getting mullered in that corner. I wouldn't have liked to have seen the lad's confidence get shattered and that's important IMO.
I agree that Smith was useless, btw.

Smith and Briscoe were not the problem imo - it was McGuire - he was shocking. The Aussies waltzed through him on that right hand side and there was little or nothing Smith and Briscoe could do to rescue the situation. Going forward he was even worse. I'd rather see Paul Cooke out there than him - and I'm not joking.
