Lams a good coach but not sure he is what we would have needed, I certainley feel this was yet again the media making more out of something.

I suspect he won't be staying, Amone that is, although the smart money would be on him being NRL bound.

Great player and even though Cokey will laugh because he sees everythkng anti Leigh, we need players in other positions in a higher priority. I think like most clubs we would have a discussion but wouldnt be wanting to spend Asita type money on him.

Cokey doesn't see others views as anti-Leigh. If you think Lammy is not what you need, you're living on another planet. Keeping Lammy at Leigh is a massive statement of intent from our club, and that we will be challenging for honours with the big boys in superleague regularly for the next 3 years at least. icon_thumb.gif

Clearly Lam is a great fit for Leigh, and I'm sure he will will continue to do well with you. That doesn't necessarily mean he would be a good fit for us. We are in a very different situation to the one you are currently in. Would Lam have been the right sort of coach to overhaul our entire club? It's a moot point now.

Yes, that's exactly what he's done at Leigh. Do keep up fella instead of guessing.

The problem is we don't really know what we need at the minute. Radford, Hodgson and Smith were all very different coaches with very different philosophies and all three failed miserably (well, Radford obviously had a period of success but things had descended into a shambles before he left). On paper Smith should have been a great fit, but he turned out to be the worst of the lot, and he himself is proof that just because a coach has been successful at one club that isn't necessarily going to translate to everywhere he goes. Lam himself had a very disappointing time at Wigan before he found a role that suited him at Leigh. It's a perfectly valid opinion to think Lam wouldn't have been the right man for the job, even if you disagree with that.

All we can really say with certainly is whoever ends up with the Hull job has a huge challenge on their hands.

I feel Cartwright would be a good acquisition for us, at this stage an unproven Manager would be very risky, compared to Cartwright who had to mould a team from scratch in the inaugural season with the Gold Coast, which is what our scenario is currently.
I assume Briers has spoken to Myler about Cartwrights attributes, his man-management skills, style of play etc.
Maybe a few Broncos will join him if he's appointed.

I don't think a full back is a priority the position we are in.

Think Walker will do for now and see how he goes in a better side.

Walker would flourish in a better team, but for some reason…some don’t seem to rate him.

I really rate Walker.

We have zero attack at the minute and our play has no unpredictability, stretch or movement.

With better options in the halves and hooker I really think he could shine; especially in broken play and if he gets the ball with a bit more space.

I really rate Walker, he’s a class player in a poor team. More quality around him and he’ll flourish. The more I think about the Cartwright possibility, the more I’m liking it. A bloke who’s been in a similar position before and done well.

Agree with most, Walker will get better in a better team.
At the moment we're getting dominated in the tackle so slow play the balls. Then slow service from dummy half from Houghton. Smith isn't a half and Charles isn't up to SL speed yet, so Walker then isn't getting a crisp pass from his halves. He's receiving the ball with a defender in his face at the moment and not leaving him many options but to just take a tackle or risk throwing an intercept.
We saw against Leeds recently he can throw a good cut out ball to a winger if he's given good service (every single pass in that play was crisp and we have good depth on the attacking line), he's just rarely getting any.
I'm happy with Walker and think he would be showing his class if he was in a more dominant team, like he was last year at Rovers.
