He’s a very clever/smart player that knows his position/role and reads the game very well . Think Hoys the same and showed that with his no panic defence on the Handley break.

Looks like the perfect half back partner to give Truman to just go and play his best game with freedom. He's a young kid but a naturally leader. This is already Clifford's team, he's the the boss.

Wish Sky would have mentioned that leeds have got Newman and Oledjski missing.

No mention of Trueman, Savelio, Sao or Carlos being out for us.

Clifford has/had a great junior pedigree. Was one of the most sought after aussie juniors. Think he picked a dud club in Newcastle, which has ended up working in our favour.

OBrian at Newcastle is a tough coach. Think Clifford just needed an arm around him, which Smith will do.

On the game, it was nice to come from behind and win at Headingley. Always seems to be the other way round againt Leeds

You could well be right re a testimonial just after the past few years with his injuries and being 33 next year he might have decided this is his last year. As for giving him another year not sure on that one to be honest.

I was told before the season he had been granted one - maybe its a 6 month one as he has been at 4 clubs!

The one thing I did worry about for us this season was our back row.

Ma'u left, Andre is injury prone, as has Cator been in the past year or so. Griffin has moved up there and so far done OK, but not a natural back rower, Fash is all action whether in the back row or front.

I would hope we're planning to bring someone of quality into the back row sooner rather than later.
