Would love to see both Hull teams face each other in the next round. It would be an absolute classic.
There hasn't been a Hull derby in the Challenge Cup since 1986, which is crackers.[/quote Reply to COYH. First round defeat 22-6 in East Hull. Attendance a few hundred short of 9000 which was the highest by far of the 16 matches played. Rovers reached the final losing by a point to Cas. A year earlier Hull went down to Wigan in an epic match which set an attendance record for a Wembley CC final. Came from Aus. to see the match and loved the day despite the result. Kenny v Sterling was a joy to watch.

What a brilliant result. The only downside for me is I think Rapana will pick up a ban. Think it was Wigans first try he put a shot on Keighran which led to his injury but it was a tad late. Yeah the replays on BBC are not great it was hard to see it properly. I suppose if he does sit a couple out we just have to look at it as a rest for him and hopefully be fresh for the derby.

Here we go!!!!! I couldn’t sleep at all I was still living it!! I couldn’t stop marvelling at it in the journey of coming down after the match. I just couldn’t believe it. A stack of Buds afterwards in fact never touched it!!! Having come down a bit this morning from a truly amazing experience which after 64 years of season tickets was still a privilege to experience, I marvelled at how I had witnessed a second half that was one of those rare occasions when after thousands of hours of live rugby watching YOUR club, you still can’t believe what’s happening before your eyes. Over egging it??? Well why not, for when you take your partisan views out of it for the average RL follower it was in the overall picture of rugby pretty earth shattering. For me it was the last five minutes at Wembley in 2016, it was Rover at Caravan Park in 2016 and it was Porky Pearce’s break, Dicks backing up and the subsequent try by McCaffrey against Wigan after the hooter had gone that famous time at the Boulevard on 20 th March 1988. To the dedicated obsessive it was one of those moments you never forget the ones that as true fans we milestone our lives with. OK we won’t win the cup but what an unexpected and even unimaginable victory that was. I expected to get up and find it was in fact Saturday morning and it had all been a dream that was in essence so far-fetched it was rubbish. This was Wigan at their fortress defending their record of winning everything and blowing everyone away last season. Wigan who started this season like a house on fire and who put over 40 on us just 4 weeks ago at home. Wigan about whom a Thesaurus of compliments had been exausted. No one, including me, gave us a hope and after 15 minutes with us 16 points down, the only consolation as I watched through my fingers was that I got that bit right!!! No one gave us a hope and anyone who said they still did at half time is a liar!! I don’t care how wise you are after the event!! Yet somehow just like us constantly defying the odds and keeping Leigh out last week some magical manifestation came to pass and we fought and fought sometimes against the officials and our lack of any luck and often against a really class outfit desperate to continue their domination of the British game (but who, in fairness I admit, perhaps believed their own publicity once they were well in front). But, in the end somehow we came through. Old men did it all again and rolled back the years and young heroes became legends in a very special game and we all simply couldn’t believe it. How often has such a scenario seen the side we had fought to get back close to just got the final heartbreaker, how often have we just failed to get that final score and how often have we thrown it away in the last seconds. Many times, I hear you say, but not this time guys… we did em!!!! So, enjoy the afterglow of the next four or so days and the Rovers fans trying to explain it away, then with two days to go to the next hit up we’ll all start panicking again!!! But make no mistake about it, this was a very, very special moment in out supporting lives and one we should never forget. I don’t know about it being the hope that kills you but at times like this, I think it’s the obsession and love that does that!! At least I still know the old tickers OK!! What a Brilliant win!!! P.S. Good piece by Dan https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/hull-fc-rise-new-found-10027775

| Unbelievable second half yesterday credit to the lads the levels of grit, determination and guts shown to hang in the game was miles ahead of the last few years. Going to by far and away the best team in the league and winning in that manner shows how united the club and team is now.
Sezer has stsrted the season on fire, Martin was brilliant and will only continue to improve, Herman- best prop in the country, there are so many to praise but the one that stands out every week is Asiata the work and graft he does in the middle is phenomenal but then add into his link play and work in attack he's the complete loose forward.
Finally credit to the Wigan fans, no bitterness or anything, all saying well done and gracious in defeat.

| There’s been many games in our recent history, Thursday nights across the Pennines and not getting home till the early hours following yet another drumming where you think ‘is it all really worth it?’
Yesterday was a fine example of exactly why it is worth it. We’ve had some horrid stuff to watch for some time and I don’t think there is a fan base in the league that deserves a day like yesterday more.
I couldn’t be any happier for both Barron and Martin, young local lads who were thrown right into the deep end last year are now been able to show us their full potential with the help of senior players.
What pleased me the most amongst all the celebrations, Cartwright remained completely grounded in his interview. There is plenty to work on, our discipline still needs improvement and our error count was pretty high, but boy do we have something to build on here.

It’s brilliant to see that’s he’s happy as we are with a win. Also it’s interesting for me that Myler is seemingly happy to keep in the background just getting on with it. For me it completely debunks the stupid narrative that AT’s interest in Hull was some sort of favour to help Myler get ahead. He’s got the ‘skin in the game’ he wanted, and he’s chosen Myler who he trusts personally but also as someone who’s lived and breathed rugby league all his life and understands the game. Dreamworld as a Hull fan at the moment after the last few years. While they’ve obviously invested heavily in the club, it’s not been the Koukcash etc unsustainable approach of just throwing money about at big names, seems like decent foundations are in place regardless of short term results to build a legacy.

| Well well well I didn’t see that 2nd half coming, how wrong some people are the internet coaches surprisingly don’t know more than JC, Myler and Lasty. We needed old heads alongside our young crop of talent and a good Sh(Sezer) to guide us round the park. Not all about pace when you have a good 1, 7, 9 &13, we have enough pace in the two wingers who are proving to be phenomenal talents.
Rapana immense always gets us going forward, Asiata brilliant link up moves us round brilliantly, Sezer the missing link fantastic hands and kicking game also speeds us up with ball in hand, Amir at 9 fantastic and a tough player, Hardaker another shrewd signing made a great break yesterday plus plenty of versatility. Only Holmes and Chamberlain yet to prove there worth. Big Jed and Knight have added amazing size Our pack. Ashworth looked good and little Brad off the bench put in a great shift and hit Nsemba three times in 2nd half and nullified him, fantastic performance small steps but definitely going in the right direction. Three away wins already after none for 18 months.
Keep up the good work JC, Richie and Thurkill I trust in you and believe in everything you are doing.

Fecking awesome but probably opens the door for the Dobbins to win the cup
They are favourites now let’s see if they handle it or choke again
