| Quote: Diablo1967 "If anyone can't see the positives in that performance tonight, they're fools.
Catalans have acclimatised to that heat by now, we were always going to tire early.
They've only lost once at home and that was in February to Leeds.
One of our wingers hadn't played for 3 months and then goes straight into those conditions.
No first choice hooker
No scrum half to speak of
They'd put 40 points past Saints in the same heat and conceded NONE.
We tried to play conservatively in the first half to save energy for the second and it paid off for us.
If someone had said we'd lose by 4 points today, I'd have said, "You mean 34". I'll take that.
One things clearer though. Rankin's getting better and NEEDS a leader on that field with him. Miller and Horne are not the answer.'"
Top post, excellent summary..

This game was there for the taking, Cats were not anywhere near what they were against St's but gash team selection, DH being given time off (or him requesting it..whichever) when this would have given us a shout at least of getting in the top 8..but no we are all happy as pigs in poop because we got within a score. That we played like crud for 65 minutes yet again
IT IS YOU AND YOUR ILK THAT ARE EMBARASSING accepting mediocrity and bigging up the team for losing..
I'm glad you're happy with Radford and his ineptness on display yet again. happy to make more excuses for a loss because one player's missus was in hospital with a baby (that's where they go btw for a few days and they have nurses and shiz..oh I'm sure both grandparents might have been on hand too..aunts/uncles too..plus specialists
It's a shame Horne didn't ground the ball correctly. Not so much for the two points we would have gained but more for the fact that it would have kept you off here for another week.

You both sound like clueless idiots
I couldn't give a flying fig if Houghton's missus has just given birth, is he a professional or isn't he?
He's hardly going to be away from the child for more than 3 days tops, I'm sure his missus could cope just like all other mothers in the real world do when their partners are 'working'...
In an important game like this, one were the difference Houghton would have brought could have won us the game (as has been ssaid numerous times) he should have said yeah I'll play..it's this crud soft d attitude that is why we are in the quagmire that we are..He'll have half of September & all of October, November, December to be at home..
Micturate poor excuses'"
I always like to read a concise, well thought out comment. What a pity this isn't one. You really should consider a job as a professional idiot, you do seem perfectly qualified.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

How old are you? You sound like a relic from the 1940's. The fact so many people have dimissed your ludicrous comments with regards to Danny Houghton should tell you that you really are barking up the wrong tree with this one.
The spirit of Andy Capp is alive and well in 2014.

| I watched the game on sky and thought you'd get blown away second half, so to only lose by 4 points is a cracking effort, especially given the conditions.

Hahaha..nope, because I was generally bigger than most, smarter than most & was a generally all round nice person..whatever that's got to do with anything.
All I hear on this forum is BLAH BLAH BLAH..excuses, excuses, excuses.
When my son was born 7 weeks premature and had lung problems & had to be put in an incubation unit (& didn't come out of hospital until he was 10 weeks old) it was a tough time..did I take time off from work..no i didn't. Firstly because actually it was a massively stressful time & work took my mind off the fact my son might die.
Could I have helped him get better..no, because the nurses and doctors were doing eveything they could. did my partner need more moral/practical support than what she already had from me despite she having a horrific pregnancy..no. Our first child and my support for her was without question and was enough, she knew that I had a job to do and when she & baby got back home I'd be there for them both at the time when it would be needed most.
So for all you 'idiots' out there banging on about how I'm embaressing myself then you're wrong.
Yes I appreciate that DH has a newborn kid, but the baby was born on the 11th June, that was a full 10 days before the Catalans game..sorry but as much as it's great he has a kid and stuff..being away for a couple of days makes jack difference. However it would have made a difference to the team.
As for 'mandatory' paternity..so what, he could have said, yeah we're in a spot, I'll play..but that's me..nothing can prepare for parenthood the first time but even at a much younger age than DH with my family hundreds of miles away I was able to balance things, so I know for a matter of FACT that two days away just isn't going to make any difference whatsoever.
I've said my piece on the matter and nothing any of you can say will change my mind.
Radford is still a loser of a coach and needs binning off for the sake of the club.

I'm a disgrace..okay, you're entitled to your opinion but in shock that you and other can't quite manage to put your finger on actually coming up with reasoned responses that actually rebuff my original statement.
Please see above for workings out and if you need me to do some stick men drawings and spelling cards for you so you can understand and maybe formulate a reasoned response I'll be glad to help out...blockity block..how childish..

See you went missing after a couple of decent results but nice to see you back in full swing after a decent effort and narrow defeat from the boys.
You're a class act, no, really.

Good for you, but you don't know the ins and outs of Houghton's situation do you? Or the intricacies of his relationship? Just because your mrs was fine without you doesn't mean mrs Houghton is okay with the father of her newborn child being away, and not able to get home very fast, and it's completely acceptable for him to put his family before rugby.

I don't keep upto speed with the personal lifes of people I don't know, so I don't know the actual date of birth of DH's child
However, I am certain that the Sky commentators said that DH became a Dad on Friday (the day before the game and what would probably have been the day of travel).
The other point highlighted probably speaks more about you than anything else. The inability to take on board others view points.

We already know that.
My first son was premature, spent weeks in ICU and I took unpaid time off to be there for support. As have other fathers I know.
If knockersbump wasn't there for his partner, he's clearly lacking compassion and motivated by money. I pity his wife.
