As there are 16 teams in the NRL how does that work?

Featherstone have been vocal that they were prepared to replace London if this scenario happened, but not sure how it would work with Fev or any other club, would they be prepared to step in when in all likelihood they would face immediate relegation?
Don't suppose the clubs will be too bothered as they will get a bigger slice of the Sky money, but for fans this would devalue the season pass if we lose a home game.
13 teams works in SL with a by for each club on their home and away fixtures but it cocks up Magic W/End which can't work with 13 teams'"
Well you just give Catalans no fixture for magic weekend they dont hardly have any away fans anyway and just have 3 games each day. London waited for there fixtures to be given before going into administration it was always on the cards its a farce really. imho

Then Catalans miss the chance for 2 points which will be needed at the seasons end.

Another "bail out", when have the RFL bailed them out previously?

Yes because the Cumbrian clubs are so well managed and get such fantastic support.
There seems to be more support for a Cumbrian club in Superleague from uoutside of Cumbria than actually attend matches in Cumbria. Whitehaven was hardly a roaring success when they were in the top flight and things seem to have gone downhill since then

Very difficult to tell what the owners motives are, maybe they’ve looked at the Bradford precedent and seen a method to wipe out a debt and get some cash in from an RFL pot that no one seems to know exists or not.
There is a huge difference between Bradfords position and Londons though, Bradford have a pretty good fan base and a ground to play in (or one the RFL could buy for them). So a new owner coming in would have the benefit of a potential income stream even if it was precarious.
London on the other hand have no ground, very few fans (think it was down to low 1000 or something at times last year, and seemingly little vision for how to rectify this situation.
So realistically unless the current owner can be persuaded into ‘investing’ a huge year on year amount then the future looks pretty much dead.
I know it’s an experiment that has been often derided but yet again it can only be a bad thing for the game as a whole and on the back of a world cup and drive for spreading the word I wonder what the RFL can do to reverse the slide, major rethink at top level is needed and I would think quickly

Sorry if that was confusing but another RL bail out was not referring to London's past but rather what has happened at Bradford and what appears to have happened at Wakefield.

Any intelligence that you may claim to have is lost with this statement. For some of you it all boils down to away fans, which is pathetic.
As for London, I can see a case that will see them still around next season all be it as Skolars and not Broncos. People forget that there is a sound club in London. They have a base and conections in The City which is essential. They might not be ready at the moment, but neither is any championship club. But all the good work that has gone on unnoticed by the flat cappers in the north, in the SE will be totally undone without a SL presence in London. Add in any feel good factor generated from the WC and we have to keep moving forward with a club in London.
They need to be based in a town within the M25 (Yes there are towns inside the M25 its not all just London) where they can get a community based team and club going. Similar to what our cousins in the east have done to good effect.
Sadly though they won't have many fans who are willing to travel to the city of culture on a Friday night so they will be forever deemed not worthy.

We were bailed out ourselves not too long ago too. Like us back then, London have been grossly mismanaged over the past few seasons, since Leneghan left them.
As a sport, we have to get away from the 'they have no fans, let's cut them off' mentality, and help one of our own if we can. What would we have done if the RFL did that to us back in 1999? We were languishing in the bottom 2 for a couple of seasons, didn't have great attendances, bad stadium etc. Who would've missed us?
The amateur game and participation in schools has never been higher in London, and a lot of that is down to the London club. Without a SL club there, we are effectively cutting off a large proportion of our talent pool over the coming years by removing that 'pathway' for players to become pro. Players like McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Clubb, Sarginson & Dixon would have effectively been lost.
If they have to be 'bailed out' by the RFL, so be it. But, it should be done on certain conditions, making sure they don't just give money to the failed management to flitter away.

| Sad to see any club go to the wall, but they've been on borrowed time since Lenaghan left. Chronically poor management and non-existent marketing was only ever going to end badly.
It will be a shame if all the work on grass roots RL in London goes to waste, so IMO any solution should be focused on ensuring that the schools/amateur game doesn't suffer.

This is the only argument the 'pro-London' lobby have is the effect on the amateur game in the capital if London where to fold. How many young players are missing the chance of progression in Cumbria without a SL team in their area. Hundreds of amateur clubs and thousands of youngsters playing the game there.
No matter how you try to spin it, London in all its different guises has being a complete and utter failure imo
