| Super League needs to reduce the number of teams in it, thats whats been called for and clear for a while, the London club proves this
They've been given longer than Crusaders and Catalans to have a go. out of the three its been the club that is in an area which there is an interest in rugby league that has become a solid-strong club.

| If we go to promotion relegation i can't see london being in super league for long they need investment and a fan base wandering around like nomads does them no favours.

| Quote: London FC Fan "You've also got to remember that London isn't really a single place.
I live 15 minutes walk away from Waterloo (the mainline station where you get trains to The Stoop from). In theory, I'm really well placed to go to see The Broncos. It still takes me over an hour to get to The Stoop by public transport (generally the quickest way to get round London). It generally takes me at least as long if I drive.
It's an even longer journey for people who live in most of North London, all of East London, and most of South London. If Broncos attracted fans when they played out in Sth East London, those fans would have a hell of a journey to go to Twickenham every week (albeit that some of them do).
Whereas if I lived in Leeds (it would be rubbish, I know, but), for instance I could probably drive to any other SL ground apart from London and Cats in the same time it takes me to travel from Waterloo to The Stoop.'"
I think that is a REALLY good point. People come out with the glib statement of "a 6 million catchment area", but it isn't ! London is effectively a conglomeration of communities with little travel between them. Hence there being no "London AFC" soccer team, but strong teams based in local communities.
The effective catchment area of the Broncos is probably about the size of Widnes, but without the tradition and history.

No it doesn't.
The 14 clubs in Superleague need to accept the fact that 14 is the number they wanted and agreed by a free vote. They then need to spend more time and money in developing enough young, home-grown players to be able to compete, not just in Superleague but also on the international stage.

| Quote: Airlie Street "Expansion has worked, just look at Catalans.
However compare what Catalans have achieved in a fraction of the time London have been established and it's clear that expansion at the top level hasn't worked in the capital.
Drop them down a league for me and let them develop sustainably as others have said.'"
Catalan are not an expansion team. RL was popular in that region for years before Catalan Dragons.

| I'm leaning the other way, I think there should be another London club. Both should have fixed homes and the building blocks in place for community clubs. Positioned closely, but not too closely together. RL, if done properly, could be massive in London. We have an amazing product.

Depends how you want to define expansion team.
Catalans were admitted into the super league and were granted various perks (free transfers, no relegation) in order to develop the professional game in France and increase local interest, that to me is an expansion team.
Obviously the game was already played there hence why it was a prime area for an expansion team, to say it was popular is probably an exaggeration.

| What hit home for me was a couple of years ago when Hull played away in London on the same day as the Super 15s came to town in the form of Crusaders v Sharks. Whilst our game got the usual pitiful couple of thousand attendance from the local 7/8 million Briton population. The inferior code game was attended by over 35k!!
London residents are just not interested in Rugby League!! Why can the RFL not see that??......

If you actually asked all 8 million residents of Greater London if they are interested I am sure you will be surprised. Of that 8 million once you take out foreign nationals who have no interested in anything other than Premier League football (thats assuming they have a sporting interest in the UK at all) I am sure you will find a good million or so from the M62 corridor and a couple of hundred thousand from Australia and NZ. All of whom have an interest in RL.
Now some like me will not be interested in supporting LB as they support a northern team. But they might just wish to venture down if it was easy to get to...etc.
By your argument when we have the WCSF at Wembley I bet it will be the biggest attended sporting event in the capital (unless Arsenal are at home) so your Super 15s argument is flawed. As i stated before how many RU teams that were once London based have now upsticks and left the capital since the game turned professional. To my mind only Harlequins have remained. Now turning the argument on its head, why has the cash rich code found the going so tough in the capital?
