He can't 'come into the line' if he's at centre, can he?

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Thats the problem. Rankin has great hands and pace - ideal for full back.
Shaul has great pace and is elusive - ideal for full back.
Both should play.

Maybe Radford will revolutionise the sport and play with two fullbacks and 1 centre.

As opposed to what now???
Are we playing with 2 centres?
All we want are players that can attack and defend whatever the shirt number.

| Henderson was tugging at the referee's sleeve all game. God knows why the dissent card wasn't shown when he threw the ball away and started shouting at Bentham.
Prycey spent more time prone on the deck than any other player but to his eternal credit, kept getting up and giving it back. His best game for me in the face of some bad niggling play from his former colleagues.
Still some dumb rugby being played and not enough patience sometimes, but all in all, considering we lost the captain for a full half, pretty good to grind that out.
Michaels pace to attempt to get Sneyds kick was incredible in the second half. He could be a real crowd-pleaser if he gets the ball.

I thought we were playing with one centre and a hat stand.
Tbf to Yeaman it sounds like he played better last night so let's hope it continues.

Comme l'intérêt détestez-vous juste la Coque FC ou êtes vous toujours smarting de votre quart de l'échec final en 2013 ?

If that was one of Yeaman's better performances then I'd hate to see a poor one. He was average in defence and completely innefective in attack. Could have put a shirt on a tailors dummy and had much the same impact on the game.

You are a nit picker
He created the tries for Talanoa and Lineham from a centre position. He should have scored a second try himself late in the game but tried to pass to Talanoa instead of crashing over the line. The point is he is fast and elusive and that's what we need.
If he is used as a centre and utilises his pace and footwork he will score tries and create a lot more for his wing partner.
Don't tell me he cant tackle because he can.

Fair enough. I'd read a couple of more positive comments and his stats looked ok (made plenty of yards).
We really need to do something about it though. Talanoa isn't the perfect winger, but he is among the better ones in this league imo. He will score bags of tries if he has a centre who will create for him.
I don't know if Rankin has played there before, but his footwork and pace seem made for it. Personally I think he offers more than Shaul overall, but I would like both in the team somewhere.

| I have one of those asking for Yeaman to be dropped, but didn't have a bad game on Friday, he put in a few very important tackles and ran the ball back strongly as he always does.
If green, Ellis and Westy are out, I'd have him on the bench to cover the backrow.

| Quote: knocker norton "I dont think it was the extra effort in defence by Catalans in the first 20 mins but more a poor Hull attack.
At no point did the Catalans defence become stretched or look desperate they handled a pretty poor Hull attack comfortably. We attacked like a team with no confidence for the first 20 mins. Also the Yeaman scoot from dummy half is only acceptable in our own 20 clearing the lines when under pressure imo it offers nothing other then a wasted tackle and breather for the opposition if done in their half of the pitch!
The 2nd and 3rd tries gave Hull the attacking confidence and you could visibly see the players suddenly want the ball more with Jordan Rankin starting looking like the full back we knew he could be.
Thought Rankin was very good linking into the attack and Lineham will hope he stays at fullback for the service. Thompson is really impressive with his pace and aggression in the middle and I like how Pryce controls the game in the middle.
Would still be tempted to find a place for Shaul on the wing in a similar vien to Russell at Warry and move Talanoa to centre or even Curtis Naughton if Talanoa gets a ban.'"
That's how I saw it. It wasn't particularly impressive defensive efforts from Catalan, it was pretty standard stuff to swallow up a naff attack. Our only idea for half an hour was to chip over the top if barging at the line failed (I don't know why people are saying 20 minutes either, we were still poor after the opening try, which was a gift. As you rightly say, it wasn't until the Rankin & Michaels tries that we actually settled down & started to play rugby).

To be slightly fair to Henderson on that single occasion, he was dead right. Awful call from Bentham, it went backwards and Henderson knew it.
