McKinnon reminds me of Blacklock, really good at reading the game and spotting gaps and will get a lot of tries out of nowhere...but likely to have some errors that leave us scratching our heads.
On his run down the touchline in front of the East Stand for example, not a lot of players would have attempted that in the wet (far to easy to be pushed in to touch) but it came off for him, and if we had someone supporting him we'd have probably scored from it.

| Quote: UllFC "I hope more fans start to understand the idea that this season is a season of transition, and it will take time for success.
We seem to have a lot of fans who treat every victory as a signal to get their Grand Final tickets booked, and every defeat as a disaster that must lead to the coach being sacked...people need to realise that not only are we in transition, but SL is getting more and more competitive and we are going to have a few shock defeats (and hopefully some shock wins) along the way.
I've said all along that I am happy with a 6th-8th finish this year, so long as we show that we can't beat the big sides on the day (particularly in a CC/Playoff tie) make some good signings for 2013 and generally show we are building to reach the Top4 again.'"
Thing is, unfortunately a lot of fans don't understand this. With comments like "well Rovers have a new coach and look at them" it's going to take more then a few weeks for sceptic fans to come around.

The only point we won this season based on defense was wire, and they should have won that.
Clinging on against Wakefield @ home, Clinging on against Harlequins @ Home and getting turned over against Salford despite dominating in possession says it all either i'm off my rocker, or some people cannot see through their rose tinted specs.

I think he's a cleverer player then Blacklock, but I agree with what you're saying. Again great to see him and Seymour trying out things between them.

To me, the team aren't clicking yet and combining quite how they could be, but I aren't under any illusions this is going to come quickly.'"
Spot on. Think some people are expecting far too much too quickly. As long as I see areas of improvement most weeks I'll be happy this year.

the rivalry with Rovers clouds a lot of fans opinions too, obviously I enjoy it when we win and they lose, but I'd take finishing below them this season if it means I am watching a Top4 side regularly making finals in 2/3 years time.
Whereas some fans would be delighted with us finishing 7th and Rovers 8th when really that means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think things are too bad at all. The defence is quite good, and we don't seem to have a problem making yards. Our discipline could still be improved, but seemed a little better today. The main area we need to improve is in our goal line attack. I'm hoping Seymour has a fair bit of improvement left in him and that drier weather and game time will help matters.

Worst thing for me though is our lack of invention still in the opposition 20. Seymour for me needs to improve, and hopefully will with the weather'"
I think Gentle hit the nail on the head in his interview. At times we were too close to the line and it hindered us, we should have played with a deeper line on those occasions. As for Seymour, I partly agree we still need to see yet more from him, but he was involved in both scores today. He was very quick to spot the opportunity for the first especially, and got himself over to the other side of the play quickly because Horne had taken the ball in.

| Quote: Robbo4 "We must have some of the thickest fans in SL. I refuse to listen to any moron complaining about how we play etc until at least half way through the season and realistically until Gentle can get the players in key positions that he wants. Players follow patterns and it takes to get them out of those patterns and into new ones.
The most pleasingly thing was our pack was utterly dominant and wakey only had about half a dozen PTBs in our half in the first half of the game and only a few more in the second half. Other than 2 "lucky" tries they never looked in even close to scoring. The attack will come with time and yes it's frustrating at the moment but a bit if patience and things will improve.'"
Bob on. Last 10 aside that was one of our most dominant displays for a fair while.
