| Quote: Marcus's Bicycle "What did Carney say mate?'"
There was a magician on earlier in the broadcast doing a trick with Jenna Brooks.
So after Eddie Jones made that comment about Jake needing to be fitter to play union, Carney said something like "a rugby league player needing to get fitter to play rugby union. Weve had a magician, now we've got a comedian!"

| Unfortunately we have to many average players on big money.
When you watch us play you wouldn’t think we had any marquee signings.

Did you see the interview with Tony Jones the England RU coach pre -match. He started off in Aus. playing RL and was asked if he could pick one player from SL who would be a success in RU? He answered Jake Connor- provided he could get fit!'"
Jake Connor in RU? playing in what position?
Not keen on RU but if there is one thing you do see in the backs in RU is that they have pace.
Connor is highly rated but his lack of pace is really evident at times playing full back

PACE RFU is absolutely awful, the game is about secondary movement, it gets bogged down in the scrimmage, their words not mine. The games slow, plodding at club level, you really need to give your head a tap. The only reason RFU got going was because they went professional, sucked duck and embraced RL players and coaches.

| When people say ‘we need to move so and so on’ how ? Someone posted that Mahe is on £150k, would another team need to come in and match that ? Who has got that kind of money ? Same with Sneyd, Taylor, unless some other team want them and are prepared to pay, aren’t we just stuck with them ? If that’s the case, what can be changed during the close season and next season ?

Jones did not say but he played Sam Burgess as a centre when he had a go at RU.
I played RL in my teens as a no 6 and switched to RU in a similar position and played that for about 5 years. I was very quick over 10- 20 metres.

You need to go to specsavers
If you are able to have a look at some of the Bristol games or Harlequins and see the pace that most of their backs have,
These two teams in particular play a very open running style for RU so easy to see the speed of the players.
If you had read my post i referred to backs not scrummage or secondary movement.
I also said i wasnt a fan of the game
The whole point was to ask what position Connor would play in RU because of his lack of pace

| Connor is a fine player, hands likes shovels, and so much timing and skill. but like the excellent Paul Wellens, Jake will never be the quickest, I heard Jones comment, and apart from the obvious mischief, I feel he has a point, you can only be as good as you can be, and I do wonder if our lads are at their fittest.
But as I have just been tested positive for this e virus, and have now some understanding of its effects, the players who have contracted Covid, will never be right this season, it’s debilitating, and perhaps, me included, should probably show a little more understanding,

As I've said a couple of times this season, I'm still feeling the affects of Covid after catching it last November when I'm running, and have really struggled with my breathing. I've gone from being able to run a half marathon non stop in just over 2 hours, to having to really slow my pace down and walk at times during long runs. No idea if I'll ever regain my full fitness but for now I'm just glad I can still run even if it is very different to this time last year. It's still very early days recovery wise for those lads that had it and we need to realise that.

| I have only just calmed down enough to post on here. As soon as they came out second half it was clear there was no intensity and heads had dropped. We still had chances but blew every opportunity with basic errors. The lack of desire though it my biggest problem, I don't think one of the FC boys could have claimed to have given 100%. Really awful game, hopefully only three games left as qualifying for the playoffs would be a travesty.
Really worried about 2022, most of these players have been resigned so just cannot see it being any better. Sure we've been disrupted with Covid and injuries but so have every other club in the league. I'll be renewing my pass but very underwhelmed about prospects.

Your post sums it up for me. Yes covid has had an impact no one has doubted that but we are not the only team to have suffered from covid related issues or injuries. As you say we had ample opportunity in the game but every time we shot ourselves in the foot either due to poor handling and ball retention on the 1st or 2nd tackle or gave away a set restart of penalty which seems to be a regular theme.
What seems to be apparent is that yet again this is another season that as we get near the end of the season the performances drop off significantly as is the manner of defeat and this is a long running theme and not an isolated occurrence or peculiar to this season nor is the poor home form.
