Definitely Newlove, and think it was first season at KC

I think it was Gleeson at the Boulevard.... May have been in addition to being schooled by Newlove although I'd be surprised if Newlove wasn't done by the time we went to the KC.

Hi “easthullwesty” I asked Hulls historian Bill Dalton about our Yeamos learning curve, he kindly replied
Kirk actually made his debut at Boulevard from the bench in the 76th minute against London Broncos on
19 August 2001. His first starting appearance at. Boulevard was against Halifax on 23 June 2002. The Saints game was 4 July and he was listed as Left Centre with Martin Gleason Right centre for Saints. Paul Newlove was Left Centre. They both scored a Try. However, the Rugby League Express report has Newlove scoring the Try which resulted in Kirk being taken off and substituted. He had had an unhappy night against the entire team,
Bill Dalton

Amazing that someone can keep that level of detail. I can remember being at the game but very little else. Do remember thinking that Yeaman would never make it. Goes to show what I know!

Yes it’s a bit like young Cameron Scott, I know a lot of clubs were after him as young as he was, but I wondered what all the praise was about after seeing him quite a few times now, he doesn’t seem that quick, his defence looks good, and he’s obviously the captain of the junior international side, so like Yeamo in his tender age, the vision of our coaches will hopefully prove right again.
Bill Dalton a fine historian.
