I find it amusing when Wigan fans, of all fans, start pontificating about attendances at other clubs.
This is the same mob who could only attract 3,000 crowds when they were relegated in the early-80s.
Ancient and 'loyal' eh?

Is airliebird9 a relative of yours?
Poor use of a hashtag, by the way.

This is the same mob who could only attract 1,500 crowds when they were in division three not so long ago.

| Anybody who was in the stadium at that time could see the real attendance was more than 5000.

Yeah, but they counted our Premier Club members in them, so it's OK. Right, Zod?

| I went as it was the last chance to see the team at home this year and I was glad I did, while it wasn't a classic game it was absorbing with strong defences and seeing if Hull's back to basics approach could break Cats line.
Its disappointing more people didn't go, especially with the effort the club made on ticket prices. I suppose the poor performance the week before didn't help, plus the weather, sky etc.
I just hope it doesn't dull Adam Pearson's enthusiasm for investing in the club and the area.

| First of all, the season as been drab at times and people have a right to stay away!
As for our attendances in general averaging over 10k for as long as i can remember, most of the clubs in the league would love our average gate. Including the team that finished top!
Now for you rovers fans, you bleat on about how your superior than us , well lets look at some facts, you finished below us, went out of the play offs before us and your attendances are worse than us.
Now you are really starting to bore me, you are simply living in our shadows, until you get to a Cup final / Grand final you will be.
Helped out by the Allams last year still tosh. As for this thing about you'll never win at wembley, least weve been there a couple of times over the last 5 years. Oh yeah won a cup in 2005! Nothing to match your buddies national cup of course.

| The appalling weather didn't help. I went but I had bought a ticket on the Wednesday. If I had to pay on the gate I may not have bothered. The abysmal performance against Saints the previous week will also have affected ticket sales. I also maintain ticket prices were too high - look at what Huddersfield are charging for Thursday's match. I think that on this occasion the club took the fans' loyalty for granted and misjudged the pricing. If he didn't know before AP will know now that the fans won't blindly turn out week after week to watch an inferior product.

| Didn't go on Friday through personal choice, been disappointed by the team too many times this season.
IMO a 'perfect storm' of a economic downturn hit city, a poor performance last week, getting nilled at Wembley, the shocking weather and our drab style of play all season have led to this gate.
I also have never been a fan of the 'top8' playoff structure and much preferred the old Top6 format. I think the current format lacks tension and the 7th/8th placed teams have never made any impact so their addition has been pointless.
I am of course happy that the team won on Friday, and I felt we played as well as could be expected given the conditions...but I am still yet to be convinced that Gentle is the man to take us forward. For large parts of this season I have been bored watching Hull, and it makes you question why you shell out hundreds of pounds every year to be bored and disappointed most weeks.
I need to see some signs of improvement (either on the field, or in terms of signings for next year, or changes to the coaching staff) before I commit yet again to getting a season pass for next year. Without some signs of progress I can sadly see gates dipping significantly next year.

Most people tend to renew regardless. Others may be influenced by what signings are announced or who is to be the coach next year. I doubt Thursday's result will make much difference.

4 of us who have bought passes without question since 2001 are considering not renewing.
to be fair not all of my issues are HullFC's 'fault' I have found the league in general to be lower in quality this year compared to 5 or 10 years ago. The big name Aussies and Kiwi's are no longer coming over, and aside from Tomkins and a handful of others the league is lacking big names to get excited about.
Overall you get about 3 'free' games buying a pass, and the convenience of sitting in the same place. But I'm feeling like I'd quite happily miss games like London, Widnes, Wakefield and with the KC being so large, and gates dropping its hardly like you struggle to get a seat anymore.

My concern is there will be a reasonable number who feel the same. I'll renew but supporting the club at home this season has been nowhere near as enjoyable as last season
