Where? I said he was an idiot IF he believed that this forum was a fair cross section of our fan base. I'm still waiting for him to clarify.
Now you can apologise for being unable to read and comprehend, and for jumping to conclusions.

Either you think it is, In which case you're an idiot. Or you don't think it is, in which case what was the point in mentioning it? Hence a mute point.
Which is it?'"
What proof do you have that it is NOT a clear cross section of the fanbase?

| Why on earth would anyone want to compare Peter Gentle with Richard Agar ? What is the point of making comparisons with the past ? what are the positives that can come out of this ? Either you prefer one or the other. If that was the question, albeit a pointless one, the answer would be a landslide in favour of PG.

| At the moment PG is saying one thing and doing another or making comments which are confusing at best. If that lack of clarity in the stuff we hear is indicative of what he's like with the players then that would be worrying and perhaps would explain the diffident and indecisive feeling of everything about the club at the moment. It looks to me like there was plan A but the usual KC curse has thrown that out of the window with the Ellis , DJ and Seymour etc problems and there is no definite plan B other than to wait for those guys , Ellis and DJ at least , to get on the field and in the meantime no one seems to know what they are doing.

Well, yes. I've always thought that's how Internet forums work; an exchange of opinions. I think several players have under performed, they've kept their places, erego it's still an issue for us and Gentle is possibly a part of that now.
Would you say that Arundel and Seymour are the only 2 players who have deserved to lose their place this season?
I just find it strange that you have said in this thread that you don't know what the problem is, and that no matter what it is you want Gentle to fix it, yet you now seem to me to be suggesting it should be done without changing the team or the players having any real threat to their places to spur them on. We've tried sticking with them and it doesn't seem to be working.

Did you read his recent interview?'"
Nope, Read it again. I suggested that that's maybe the reason why their players seem to do what is asked of them. The fact that our last few coaches keep telling us ours don't put what they do on the training pitch into a game suggests they don't.
I think we have players who feel too comfortable and stagnate at this club. Very few of our signings from outside of the club improve with us, they deteriorate. The only one of our current crop who I think is better than when he signed is Tickle, and he seems to want out. Manu did the same. I'm simply considering reasons as to why this is the case, and maybe a lack of drive/fear is a factor.

| Sometimes whe I read this forum it actually depresses me as a Hull FC fan. So we havent had a great start to the season so it must all be PG's fault? He has gone from "talking sense" week in week out on the radio to "making excuses" and "has no idea". Have to say although I expected a couple more points at the start of the season I expected it to be a difficult start and will keep the faith. Why?
Losing Manu and Moa. PG didnt want them to leave. Manu was always going to leave a massive gap in our attacking play. His off the cuff attack was always going to be next to impossible to fix easily - same as when we lost Cooke and still havent recovered from that. Has anyone watched Moa in the NRL - hasnt looked out of place so another massive loss.
Half backs. DJH was the "marque" signing on that front and we have hardly had him on the field. And its not like we can blame PG for buying an old crock. The blokes had concussion. And lets not forget we still have one of the worlds best - yes worlds best - forwards on the injury list.
New team. Did anyone really expect the team to gel in a few weeks anyway? Add to that the team hasnt even been the same week in week out its going to be longer. And as for signings you cant say we didnt try. We had to replace a centre so bought an England international who maybe hasnt set the world on fire yet but was out most of last year.

| Gentle should be open to critisism now.
If we lose on Friday a lot of fans will lose patience.
Many Hull FC fans I know are unhappy . Supporters have seen and heard it all before .
We have gone backwards on last year. The year on year curse of the No 7 shirt continues.
Gentle has made some very average signings . Crookes, Arundel , Galea have not improved us at all.
Moa and Manu have not been replaced and are greatly missed .
Our results this season are down on last season .
The stench of averageness is again hanging around Hull FC .

| The simple fact is the none signing of a halfback has left PG exposed. just like Agar he but there the similarity ends. You can spent a fortune on all the other positions, but without quality half backs it mean nothing. The signing of Ellis has to date brought in nothing except bolstering season pass sales, time will tell if it was a wise move or not. PGs use of subs, is like Mr Agar a tad confusing at times a touch of the knee jerks. I am wondering if he struggles to make a sub that has a positive effect on the game.
The fans are now so sick of jam tomorrow that any support credit they had for the coach was used up by the last one. It was always going to be a tough season and failure will not be tolerated by AP, he knows he has to have some success or season pass sales will slip badly.
I think we could well be having a new coach before the end of the year if things continue and a bad loss against KR will go a long way to sealing his fate. The Faithful will be demanding his head from that point on and I can see another coach campaign in full swing by early May.
Lee Radford anyone or will he have moved eastwards by then

I still think Gentle talks sense. I thought our last 3 coaches did fairly often, too. The problem seems to be putting it into practice.

But never mind, you've got the worlds best halfbacks, being coached by the worlds best coach so everything's cool at Craven Park.
